Infection 4 weeks after Re op, gutted
I had a re-op 4 weeks ago to correct a contracture and snoop dog/ double bubble issue on my righty. My old crease was cut, my breast tissue re-scored and the implant replaced.
The shape issues seem to have been sorted, though not entirely sure whether it still needs lifting a little more.
However that is old news now as just last night I developed a horrible internal infection, nothing to do with my scar. My breast is hot and swollen and aches all around the edge right to the underneath of my arm. There is a big red swollen bit on my ribs too. When I lie down it feels like the impant is literally swinging off me and I have a temperature etc.
No sleep last night, absolutely devastated at the thought of more surgery when I thought I was there. I have antibiotics and fingers crossed but I cannot help but think of the worse case scenario as I've already been there once.
My surgeon had me in straight away, prescribed the antibiotics and wants me back tomorrow to further assess.
I do not want to walk around for however many months with one implant, if it has to come out I want them both out and then to start again. Is this going to be possible? I had allergan 410 anatomicals, are there other impants that are less prone to contracture/ infection?
I feel really upset and combination of pain and crying had me up all night. My middle son is very sensitive and gone to school really worrying about me, beginning to wish I'd never started and just put up with my hideous tubular boobs..... I've had no issues with my left but the surgery has been much more invasive on the right because of the severity of the constriction.
Any advice/ thoughts much appreciated

Really sorry to hear your having such a crappy time of it hun. Iv not yet had my ba, so don't really have any words of wisdom. Just wanted to say we're here for you.
To go through all this AGAIN must feel horrendous. But there's still a chance it will clear up with the mess so try and focus on that and stay positive lovey xxx
The sleep deprivation will make you feel low so try and rest up when you can.
Keep us posted anyway x

sorry to hear this hun. Try not to think the worst at this stage, the antibiotics might clear it up and jobs a gooden.
I had a consultation with Mr Murphy and he was so lovely. It's really good to hear he got you straight back in and really cares as wants to see you again tomorrow. You are obviously in good hands.
Hopefully you'll get some sleep tonight and that will start to make you feel better too.
I can imagine how disheartened you will be feeling so sending big (gentle) hugs but focus on the antibiotics doing their job xx

Thanks all, yes he has been great though im being typically English and keep on apologising for being a pain! I will update tomorrow when I know more. Glad now I stayed relatively local for surgery, I really wanted Adrian Richards because he's a real specialist at tubular correction. The thought of having to go from Chester to Northampton all these times makes me think that would have been impractical xx

Gutted for you hun. Try to stay positive though, you're getting great care. I completely agree, there's been many times since my op that I've been relieved to have stayed local!

Oh Emma, Im sorry to hear this. But it sounds like you're doing the right thing and your surgeon is hot on it. Give the Antibiotics a couple of days to kick in, and it should clear up nicely. I know our minds jump to worst case scenario all the time, but try not to think about it. You've still got a fab surgeon who knows what he's doing. I know its easy to wish you'd never started in the first place when you get given hurdles like this, but in the long term, when they're all healed up and you have the lovely boobs you want, you'll think what a tiny glitch this was.
Get yourself a blanket and some delicious dark choccys (I'd say red wine too, but with this infection...maybe just some shloer!) and feel sorry for yourself for a night! Its ok to be upset, your body is going through a lot. Let us know how you get on tomorrow

Thanks all for that support. Better sleep last night as took codeine which really doesn't agree with my tummy but I've chosen sleep over poohing excuse the tmi. I feel like I have the worse case of morning boob ever so can only assume that is swelling like when you've first had them done. Will let you know later what he says, going to freak if I've gone through all this to have to take them out. Whole weekend in the lakes this weekend for my sisters wedding, hope it's feeling better for that xx

Re: Infection 4 weeks after Re op, gutted
Update from today, he said he still can't tell if it's soft tissue or implant issue. I had to draw round the angry redness so I can assess if it spreads or contracts. I also need to phone every morning to give an update and must go straight back in of things get worse. He said he is ready to operate over he weekend of need be but likely we will wait until my next appointment Tuesday to see if the infection has gone. If not we have to explant. I am wobbling between being glad my aftercare is so good to crying my eyes out at the thought of more surgery/ recovery etc. anyway he has agreed that if it comes to it we will discuss taking them both out rather than one and starting again when I'm healed. Not the best or worst of news and now it's just a waiting game xx

Aw Hun I really hope the antibiotics do start to work for you!
You're surgeon does sound like he is ensuring you are getting the best of care.
Hope you are feeling well enough for your sisters wedding, maybe just what you're needing to take your mind of things for a bit.
