Counting the days till next round of consults!
Hi everyone! I'm so impatient I'm wondering how I'm gonna be when I actually start counting down to surgery itself!!! My first consultation was way back on 23rd March (not even a month ago but feels like years ago lol), and now it's 2 weeks today till I see my next possible surgeon on 1st May (mybreast - Simon Withey) and then 2nd May Garrick Georgeu. I just can't wait to hear what they have to say and keeping everything crossed they say something completely different to what the first surgeon said he'd do (in a nutshell, he said uplift and maximum 140cc implants unders).
Anyone else found that this bit of the process really seems to drag on?? Hope everyone has a good Friday xxx

Re: Counting the days till next round of consults!
Hi hun, I started seriously looking into having my BA in 2013 while I was on maternity leave. I saw quite a few surgeons and thought I had decided on one, but my mum has had breast cancer so was very against this at first. I asked the one I thought was "the one" if I could take my mum with me to see him and he said he had a way with mums which just made me cringe and feel a bit repulsed and he was very charming and I didn't want her to be convinced by him cos he was handsome and that's how it felt.
Anyway, the timings weren't right, I was using all my holidays to go back to work part time for the rest of the year so didn't have enough time for an op and recovery.
I put it on the back burner and had a bad year last year health wise myself. It made me realised that life is too short. I've always wanted this so finally I am doing it, regardless of what anyone thinks.
I started all my research again and came back on this amazing forum.
I am now 100% confident in my decision of surgeon, I've got enough time off work to recover and have my mums blessing.
I totally understand that feeling of impatience and excitement. I think so many of us have always dreamt of this, once you've decided to "go for it" hence my username (!) you want it immediately.
It gets even worse when you're booked and waiting for the date to finally come!! Xx

You've got some amazing surgeons lined up so sounds like you've done your homework! I was naughty and only went to the one consultation but knew I wanted her straight away. After reading people's stories on here it sounds common that they have a very different experience and size recommendation from each surgeon. One lady on here is only young, no kids etc and got told by THG she needed an uplift! Ridiculous!
It's a very exciting time though. Maybe after all your consults make a big list summarising what they all said. Go with your gut feeling too about which surgeon you felt understood your needs and concerns the best and really listened.
Good luck and can't wait to hear how you get on!!
Xxx
Ps the wait once you've booked your surgery is even worse! It drags and drags and then springs on you out of no where!!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I know exactly how you feel.. but you have got to fish about and see what is out there first! Dont always go with the first consultation you have, you need the variety to know whats best for you. My first consultation was at HMG and they told me i needed an uplift!!! I was so upset i thought maybe it isnt for me.. But after thinking hard i didnt let one person... a NURSE, let me think i needed more than i actually did.
It is a long process but it will be worth it in the end :-) I feel like im going boobie crazy at the moment, but just excitment i think! xx

Thanks everyone great advice re how to choose between them and I will definitely let you know what they all say! And you've all confirmed my thoughts that the wait for the actual surgery is gonna be even worse ha ha! It's amazing to have so much support on this forum though, and to have you all to 'talk' to cos I can't talk to many people about it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] that's great advice I'm gonna make that list! And [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] wow you've had quite a roller coaster journey and now you're nearly there! I've also already thought about when I can take a big chunk of time off work to recover, definitely has to be August cos I can book 2 weeks off work and not worry about the school run. Just have to keep my fingers crossed the surgeon I end up choosing is around in August and can fit me in :-)) Thanks again everyone you are all so lovely xxx

I've had to plan it round the school run too. My op is in a Thursday. My husband is off the following week and I can avoid the school run til the Wednesday the week after that so almost 2 weeks post op xx

I damaged a tendon in my foot a few years ago when the kids were really small and had to wear air cast boot 24 hours a day it was so hard! Wishing u speedy recovery xxx

I am very lucky they are really good boys so they've been helping massively and the older 2 and have been helping look after the littlest while hubby has been at work.
To be honest I am finding this boot much harder work than the cast. How long were you in it for.
They've said I can take it off for sleeping and showering but I feel like I am risking my life trying to get into the shower haha! Xx
