Check up Friday...

hey girls, have my second check up on Friday, what happeneds @ this appointment? Do they take the dressings off all together etc..? x x

Will check how everything's healing , sometimes need smaller dressings on , maybe remove them altogether , some surgeons have you wear steri strips over inscisions for a bit, will depend on surgeon.

I have my first check up this evening and was wondering what it will involved. I only have 3 thin pieces of micropore on each incisions, I hope I get to see them!

Thanks mirren, i saw nurse last time and she changed dressings to ones where i change daily and cut each side to let air through- wonder if theyl come
Off alltogether.. Im seeing nurse again, going to ask when ill actually c my surgeon again xx

I would have thought you would see the surgeon again, I know my appt tonight is with the surgeon.

I had my steri strips off at my second appointment. I think they take a look as it depends on healing. Let us know how you get on xxx

You're THG yes? 2nd is another wound check, to make sure theyre healing ok, and just your general health. You might get the OK for sleeping flat now. But its not a 'breast' check, its a healing check. Your surgeon should have told you to book in to see him at around 3months if everything is progressing smoothly.

Yes let u all know how it goes- and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] yes I'm with the hosp group, my surgeon never mentioned anything only seen him briefly day off my opp, before my opp and seen him for literally a few minutes before I went home! x

Also my birthday Saturday and wanted to wear a nice dress with no bra only for like 2 hours to go for a meal- is that possible or do u have to keep sports bra on @ all times? xxx

Have you been told to wear a bra all the time?
If you have then you have to follow the rules, it may effect your aftercare.

My paper work says 'crop top or no bra if more comfortable'
You could always call the clinic and ask the question. Or check your paperwork? Xx

Just said wear the band for a week then keep sports bra on- I could ask at my app Friday; xx

Definitely ask, but remember this is the crucial time for your boobs in terms of heeling and settling in the right place!

If it says 'and then sports bra' it means keep it on. It's far too early to be letting them loose. You'll thank us in the long run.

Double check with your nurse, but they should ask you back around the 3m mark for a squish and a check!

I'd get a dress you can wear with sports bra. Not worth risking anything. I had to practically change my wardrobe to wear sports bras lol x
