Good Luck Bambi!
Don't forget to take your own sanitary towels with you. Don't be like me who also had her period on the day of surgery and used a tampon, only to be told I couldn't wear this during surgery so they very kindles gave me a sanitary towel from the hospital for me to use - it was like a bloody mattress Bambi! So do take your own so you can at least walk down to theatre with dignity. Lol. Xx

Re: Good Luck Bambi69 op 26/2/15
Bambi, was it Transform who actually implanted the PIPS removed?
If it was then you could be due to a substantial refund if you were charged full price, which I presume you were given that you didn't know until they were removed.
The last reported about Transform and PIPS was that they would be responsible for the consultation, a free scan and free removal of PIPS to anyone having PIPS after 2001. If you wanted a replacement implant this would be to a cost of £2500, saying they made no profit from this price.
Now... Transform has recently been bought out by a German firm called Aurelius, but have remained very quiet about whether or not it was an pre-pack administration deal. If this was the case this then relinquished any responsibility Transform have to any of their patients seeking to have the PIPS they implanted removed. Therefore you would not be entitled to a refund.
Not only that there are claims in solicitors hands still working on claims against clinics who used PIP implants. The pre-pack administration IF this did go ahead also shuts down any claim made by any of these women against Transform who implanted the implants which were not fit for purpose. The silicone grade was intended for matress filling and not for implanting into human bodies.
So IF these implants were implanted by Transform you'll soon find out whether or not the pre-pack administration went ahead.
I'm hoping not and those that are still looking to change their PIPS will still have the surgery honoured by Transform and for those with Claims ongoing that they still have a chance at getting some kind of compensation. Xx
