Re: Oil on incisions?
Hey Hun
I waited until I was 2.5 months post-op and absolutely, completely, definitely healed before I started using bio oil
I've now been using it for over 2 months and I'm sure it's made a difference x

If you have been for your Post Op check, you could call your surgeon just to confirm its ok. I have newly formed scars on my feet and I had to wait until fully healed before I could massage them with oils. One was about 4 weeks, but the other took about 8 weeks

Re: Oil on incisions?
I'd say around 12 weeks , just to make sure they're completely closed and healed.
I never used anything on mine and they've faded to a very thin barely there line.
Totally personal choice as to wether you use it though,

Re: Oil on incisions?
You should have been told in your discharge notes, or an all clear. It can be anywhere between 6-12wks, depending on your advice. But they do fade naturally on their own eventually. I used Tamanu on mine to slough the dead skin off, but the feeling of massage made me queasy, so I left them alone. Can barely see them now.

Re: Oil on incisions?
If you suspect any openings at all in the incisions it's best not to use anything at all on them due to the risk of infection.
If you haven't been specifically told you're able to massage your scars now Anne, I'd just give your clinic a quick call and run it by them. They should give you the all clear, so it's best to get their advise sweetheart. Xx
