Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
Hi Everyone.
I had my BA Saturday just gone and I cannot feel A THING in both breasts. With the exception of the very very outside of the breast. I am aware that people lose senstion after the op for a while in their nipples (sometimes to never return!) but I didn't realise your whole boob could go numb???
I think I could be stabbed in my breasts and I would have no clue. I ha;lf expect to look down and find something sticking out of them where I've inadvertantly punctured them on something (e.g. sharp pencil!). Such a strange feeling having two concrete lumps on your chest!!!
Did anyone else get this, or should I be worried???

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
Hey lovely,
I couldn't feel much of my boobs for the first few days, but now I've got pretty much all sensation back, with the exception of a bit under each boob the size of about a pound coin.
Don't be worried, you'll probably get sharp pains in your boobs occasionally for the next few weeks, this is your nerves healing.

I remember mine were very numb to start with all over. You're still v early days hun - I would imagine you'll start getting the sensation back over the weekend.

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
mine were numb too, still got the odd numb spot but they are almost back to normal, when my numbness started going i had a 'sunburnt' feeling so if you start getting that then thats normal too...happy healing

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
I had no feeling in mine for about two weeks as well. Then although a lot of my boobs still had numb parts they started to feel a bit more like mine. I read it was just because the nerves are stretched and a bit bruised so they lose all feeling, then as they say, you get the stabbing or shooting pains, maybe a bit itchy and skin can be a bit flaky where it's stretching and replaceing itself. The feeling comes back slowly. my boobs are still numb from the nipple to the scar, and my left nip is not very sensitive.
Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
It can take up to a year, sometimes maybe more for feeling to come back, sometimes it doesnt at all, that is a risk of breast augmentation that should be explained during consultations. Mine are still quite numb from the nipple down but around that and on top is fine
Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
I have a totally numb one too and it does get less noticable by yourself as the months go on so don't think it will always be as bad as it is now to you if it does stay numb, it gets to a point where you do forget about it so to speak and the numbness is less apparent to you, my nipple still reacts the same as the one that's not numb so i've learned to live with it now and no longer find it bother's me as much.
Hopefully the feeling will return for you hunni but if not, it does get easier to live with in time i promise x x

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
mine are still quite numb at the bottom too, it is a very strange feeling when you touch it.
i don't actually like touching the numb part it just feels weird and not nice.
it does usually go back to normal hun but like the other girls have said it can take a long time.
it varies some girls the feeling returns really quickly whereas other girls it can take many months.

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
I'm still numb pretty much all over and I'm over 5 months post-op. It's annoying and weird but it has improved slightly and I'd much rather have lovely numb boobs than hideous non-existant boobs with sensation!!
I really hope it comes back though...it does feel like I'm grabbing someone else's boob sometimes!

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
yeah i feel the same carrie i would much rather have lovely numb boobs than my old ones with sensation.
i guess i am quite greedy though as i would rather have both if possible lol.
my nipples have sensation which i am so glad about.
i really would have hated for them to be numb.

Re: Total Numbness - whole boob!!!
Haha, Carrie I know exactly what you mean about 'it does feel like I'm grabbing someone else's boob sometimes'. I keep feeling mine, or holding them like they're going to fall off - whilst in public. But because I have no feeling in them it doesn't feel inappropriate so before I know it I'm in a shopping centre with my hands on my boobs and people looking. So embarrassing. x
