Updated from my MRI...
for those who didn't read my last threads about this, I've been having a few problems with my left Breast. CC is already confirmed but the surgeon wanted me to have an MRI because he wasn't happy with the ultrasound and suspected a possible rupture too in the same Breast. I had the MRI and went back for my results on the 14th.
I'm a little shell shocked even as I write this, but have to keep telling myself it early days and not to worry. But that's thats not easily done is it.
The doc told me he couldn't see any obvious rupture, but, he could see that there was some silicone leakage. He also said he's not at all worried about that though, his concern is in my "armpit"
He told me that the time frame from my ultra sound scan which was maybe a couple of months ago and my MRI scan which was a couple of weeks ago there were changes in my lymph nodes in my armpit. Two of them had changed in shape and enlarged.
I've got to have another ultrasound and an aspiration done this time into the lymph nodes and possible surgery if needed to removed the nodes. Hubs got him to tell us what he thinks and the doc wasn't prepared to commit to anything but asked if I'd ever been tested in all my recent tests for lymphoma or leukaemia? I haven't. I may be running before I can walk here but from that response myself and hubs are quite certain this is what the next tests are all about. I'm normally such a positive person but I've nothing to give anymore. I can't remember being well, I'm tired all the time and always bloody ill! Now, I spoke to the doc because I've had a severe bout of sarcoidosis this time around. This is the reason for my time away from you all, I can barely keep my eyes open and am just over an infection in my foot that was excruciating! So this "may" be a cause for my lymph nodes to be playing up, another possible cause is that some of the silicone may have gotten beyond the capsule - again (this happened to me last time and I lost 5 nodes) but....the silicone he said would be a long shot because of the small amount of leakage he could see. So my hope is that it's sarc and nothing sinister
We were given a note to call X-ray for an appointment in two days. which is tomorrow, so not sure when the next appointment will be through. I suspect soon though. Actually, I'm hoping soon.
My husband and I didn't talk to each other all the way in the car ride home. It was a strange silence cos we're never like that. Feel ok now though but still a bit spaced out. Im already a cancer survivor and this is why the suggestion of it back again has hit it. We dealt with it better the first time around...but as you see, my mind is focussing were it shouldn't...
Just want to keep you updated with everything. And I'm so, so sorry to have been away for so long. I will do my best to come to see you all. But it's hard when I'm tired and can't put a sentence together let alone respond to posts looking for help. But our lovely ladies here are all doing a good job anyway.
I'll let you all know when I go for the next ultrasound and aspiration.
But more importantly this just emphasises the need as the FDA suggests to have an MRI every 3 years after being implanted. It doesn't just show if your implants are intact and looking good, it also shows anything else such as the possibility of Breast cancer or other types of cancer that you might never have even known were there.
I'm not saying I have cancer, I don't know yet, but I can't even feel these enlarged lymph nodes that have been found and I'm very pro Breast and armpit cancer check up every time I shower. So it's vitally important to have this test. For some it may be a lot of money....but, when you think about it, it's a VERY small amount to save for a private MRI over a 3 year period.
