Tourism company's BA gold medal!
A GOLD Coast medical tourism company claiming to have a boob job world record today has sparked concern from doctors that surgery is being trivialised.
But other health professionals have defended CosMediTour’s decision to spruik the fact 23 breast augmentation procedures are being performed in a single day, saying the company is a driver for tourism in the city.
Less than four months since the launch of the Breast Academy and cheap boob job holidays on the Coast, the company is being inundated with clients from as far away as New Zealand.
Company directors say they have “thrown down the challenge” to any clinic in the world that has performed that many breast augmentations in one day and they are yet to find a practice with that surgery capacity.
Australian Medical Association Queensland president Dr Shaun Rudd said he could not support the concept because it took away from the importance of surgery.
“Quality and safety are very important aspects of any work we do and to somehow trivialise these procedures doesn’t sound like the appropriate thing to do,” Dr Rudd said.
“Surgery is not something that should be taken lightly.”
“However, Gold Coast Medical Association president Dr Gary Swift said as long as the quality was maintained, then the volume was not a concern.
“It’s probably a big win for the Gold Coast because it will drive business,” Dr Swift said.
“The most important aspect is if they’re providing a quality service with senior supervision, so it’s probably not so important the number of cases they do.”
The academy is run by qualified plastic surgeons who oversee procedures.
CosMediTour director Christyna Kruczaj said the record was proof of the company’s reputation.
“More Aussie ladies are placing their trust in the skills of the Breast Academy’s plastic surgeons on this day for their breast augmentations than in any other clinic, anywhere,” Ms Kruczaj said.
“In addition to our local and southeast Queensland ladies, patients are now flying in from Perth, Darwin, Queensland’s Outback, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and elsewhere.”
Carrara resident Jordan Reid, 27, is among the list of ladies lined up for surgery today and said she did her research before booking in.
“I went with them purely because I know people who have gone through them before and recommended them to be really good,” Ms Reid said.
“That’s a lot of surgeries in one day but I don’t think they’d be doing it if they knew it wasn’t going to be safe.”

Another country, but sounds eerily like some clinics here except they're not shouting their numbers to the media (they're cleverer than that)
All this offers and showcasing for your boob job are just a sure fire way to get yourself a bodge job.
If it sounds to good to be true - It IS too good to be true!
