one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Hi dont know if anyone has had a similar problem. I am on my forth set of implants. First had Trilucent, these had to be replaced so had silicone. these rippled so had new set (pips) so had to have those removed, then had under the muscle silicone in Dec 2012. I was really happy until about 5 months ago, when I noticed my right one was dropping. It is now considerably lower than the left and looks much bigger than the other one, but dont know if that is possible? Really dont want to keep going back under the knife and not sure I can afford it either. Am very tempted to just have them removed, but my surgeon Mr Percival said they would look really droopy and empty. Also wondered about going for just a B cup this time. My latest ones were a DD and I wonder if it was the weight that caused it to drop down out of the pocket. He did say that would also look pretty droopy. Somebody else suggested I could maybe just have fat transfer but I have not heard of that before? Any advice gratefully received.

Hi daisy. Has it dropped out of the pocket? Do you have Any degree of double bubble? It could well be the weight of them, 510 is quite large. The only person who'll really be able to advise you is going to be your surgeon. What I'd say is go back to your previous one, but maybe get some opinions of others, go for some free consults elsewhere. Maybe a smaller implant and an uplift is required.

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
No double bubble, just one implant looking much bigger and about and inch and a half lower than the other one. Wish I had never started with all this now. If I have them removed altogether I wonder what I will be left with? Think you are right, it might be good to get some second opinions. Still waiting to hear back from my surgeon, have asked for an appointment.

Is it that the one has got bigger and dropped, or the other has got smaller and higher. If the latter, it's likely Cc contracting the implant. If the former, I would get that checked out, get an mri if at all possible. Just to rule out any nasties, silent rupture etc.

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
like charlii said it could be that the CC is making the other smaller and compacted rather than the other way about
I had grade 4 CC and had a reop to sort that loosen the uscle and lowe the crease and looking at another reop to ove from unders to overs
I know what you mean about you wish you hadnt started it all
we are all here if you need to chat xx

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
thanks, I think it is that the one which has dropped looks much bigger, Im pretty sure the other one looks the same, but it is hard to tell. Think I will wait to get my appointment and see what the surgeon says. Has anybody tried this idea of fat injections instead of implants? I dont even mind if mine end up much smaller now, I just dont want to keep having implant problems.

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Ok will do thank you. Actually I have just thought also, it definately is that one of them has just dropped as the implant is now about 1.5 inches below where the scar is that used to be in the crease. Just dont know what would cause it to look so much bigger than the other one. Hope there is not some ominous reason why one would just get bigger on its own accord.

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
The best thing you can do for yourself Daisy is arrange a scan. You will not be able to have this done on the NHS as you had your surgery privately, so you're going to have to locate a place privately that can scan your breasts for you.
This is what your surgeon is going to suggest anyway, so to save waiting on your surgeon only to be told to have this done, you may as well get that set up and they will give you the results. You can then have the results sent to your surgeon.
You mention that one breast is lowering and getting bigger. This happened to me and it turned out that I had a rupture. I'm not for a single moment suggesting this is what's wrong with you, just throwing a possibility out there.
Sometimes however we can get confused with one breast lowering or going higher up the chest and getting smaller, giving the illusion that the other is lower and bigger...if this is the case it could be CC.
The scan will reveal the outcome and you have two choices of which scan to have.
The first is an ultrasound scan.
The second is an MRI
Of the two, the MRI is much, much better with the ultrasound having missed many a rupture.
But it's all down to cost and what you can afford lovely. The ultrasound will about £150 and the MRI will be around £350-£400.
Please keep us updated Daisy and I do hope all goes well for you.
In ref to the fat transfer...this is something I'm very much considering myself. I have CC right now and have to start making decisions myself.
I haven't spoken to my surgeon yet but have read lots about fat transfers. This doesn't however give you a big increase in breast size and will only help to achieve one possibly 2 cup sizes. If you have a lot of breast tissue though, the addition of a fat transfer could help go a long way.
Whether or not this is right 'for you' though you really should discuss it with your surgeon. After all you've gone through you want to make this last decision the right one, so take your time, do your research, speak with your surgeon and be sure your apply before agreeing to anything Daisy.
Scan first though

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Well I had my implants removed on Monday and fat taken from my thighs to try to fill them out a bit. I dont take the dressings off till next Monday so cant say how they will look, but I am just so relieved to have no implants anymore. I think I might end up with an A or B cup, and obviously they will be a bit droopy as I had such big implants removed. The boobs are not too sore at all but my thighs are quite bruised. Hopefully no more surgery for me anymore ever!!

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Excellent news Daisy
If you don't mind Daisy. Would you mind sharing a pic with me of what your boobs look like now.
I'm not asking just for the sake of seeing them sweetie, I'm asking because I so, so so would like to get rid of my own implants but my surgeon advised against it because I have no Breast tissue and they would basically be flaps of skin, so if you could share I'd be really grateful but please don't feel you have to - I totally respect your privacy if you'd rather not. Xx

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Thanks all. Cookie I dont mind sharing a picture at all - probably after I take the dressings off on Monday would best as you cant really tell at the moment what they will look like, although I think about half the fat they transfer can be absorbed back into the body, but dont know how long that takes, so I suppose in a few months time I might still be left with not much. If they stay as they are I would be well happy, as I think they are about a B and considering I started off 16 or so years ago at a AA, that would be fine for me. Mr Percival my surgeon did originally say they would just be droopy and not look too good to be honest, but I think surgeons are used to seeing these high firm implant type boobs and I actually dont mind them looking a bit more like a normal woman my age (nearly 50) who has breastfed, so I think my expectations were lower than his. He did mine at cost because of the problems I had with them which I think was really good of him (this was my forth set which had to come out due to falling down beneath the crease on one side). I dont actually know how to send a photo so can you please give me instructions on this. Thanx

Re: one implant has dropped and looks much bigger now
Thank you Daisy. You're also at the stage I'm at with my own boobs too. I'm 46 now and although I've enjoyed my boobs, it's time for natural now, so I'm hoping my surgeon with get this for me.
I did suspect I'd need an implant though because there's no pinch at all between Breast and implant, they're still sat tight and high. So I did wonder about what tissue I had and according to my surgeon, it's little to none he said to me that the fat transfer could work well for some women but for others it may only work in the short term and that I'd always have to get that topped up if I wasn't happy if they lost volume. He also said this would only give me one cupsize, maybe two if I'm lucky, which is what I've read also, so without Breast tissue, I'd go back to having nothing and I know I just couldn't live with that.
Thank you for sharing with me though. It's something I'd like to maybe explore a little more with my surgeon before that definitive decision, so I know in my own mind, I did all I could to go full natural before going ahead with yet more implants.
This is going to be my 6th surgery and I really have had enough now, so I'm hoping I'll get as near as possible to the ten year average I'm constantly being told by surgeons. This will be my 3rd set of implants in 8 years, they're a better quality implant than the implants I have in now so it's going to be interesting to feel the difference and of course to see how long they last. X
