Re: breast augmentation abroad
Hi pinkstar. I've moved your topic so more girls see it. As a newbie why don't you pop over to the introduce yourself section and start a new thread so we can all say hi.
I can't really help as surgery abroad is not something I'm familiar with, but I actually think you can't buy it in the same way as travel insurance etc. All you would get is your aftercare with the clinic. There is additional insurance you can take out, but that's only if you are using a certified BAAPS member.
I hope you find some answers.

Hi pinkstar. What do you want the insurance to cover?

Re: breast augmentation abroad
Hmm tricky, in this country I am sure you cannot get "insurance" for a BA, you can have an aftercare package, which may or may not include certain things...your PS abroad should have similar?
I do not know if such a thing exists?! Try going through private "medical insurance companies" who can probably advise you better xx

Re: breast augmentation abroad
Yeah sure hun basically my mum and my Nan have both had surgerys with the same surgeon in Belgium so even though I did my own reaserch I ended up with him as my best option ive seen his work on them and its amazing and it is cheaper then Uk prices which helps a little not just that but I went to 4 consultations in the Uk and am not happy with them found them rude and they belittled me.x

Re: breast augmentation abroad
Really? Which surgeons? We're they through commercial clinics? That's awful, I'm sorry you had that experience. Belgium seems to be the place to go abroad these days, we do have a few girls coming through here going to belgium. Sorry I can't be of more help re the insurance

Re: breast augmentation abroad
Id rather not put names just in case but they were 4 of the most popular in the Uk. One of the surgeons I saw was a woman she was so rude and like said I couldn't have more then 300cc which is rubbish as even the other surgeons who I didn't get on with said I could have at least 500cc. Personally I think well I'm spending all this money I should be aloud to have what I want, sorry about the rant it just gets to me.no problem hun I'm still waiting to hear back from the insurance at the moment.xx

Oh no that's fine, I understand not wanting to bad mouth, some girls here may have had better experiences. Every surgeon is going to have a different opinion of what's best for you, so its good that you've seen several and then come to that conclusion. All I'll say is don't always thing bigger is better, they cap these things for a reason and you're health always needs to come first. I hope you've had a far better experience with your chosen surgeon and come to a size that you both agree on.

Re: breast augmentation abroad
Im not sure about the insurance at all but like the girls have said it ight be in the aftercare package which I must say read every single little detail in it as so many girls get stung by thinking they have something they dont
I have had to use my aftercare once and looking to use it again at the end of the year, I had my BA in glasgow then my surgeon moved to manchester and that was hard enough to trave to see him and have updates and check ups so from a personal experiance i wouldnt choose to go abroad only cause i know that htings can and do go wrong
I wanted bigger than I have and my surgeon put in the biggest he could, under my instructions and thats what caused my complications, apart from the CC that can happen to anyone at anytime
im glad that you have found the surgeon that you wanted and that after meeting him you feel you trust him and have the confidence there to feel good going for the op
is he writing you a note to say if anything happens with flying so early after the BA that if anything goes wrong it will be corrected or if you become unwell its covered, just double check all the wee details and have it in writing
good luck woohoo xx
