Capsular contracture - recurring?
I was just wondering , if you develop cc after BA does that mean you are more likely to get it again after a reop? And does it make a difference how quickly the cc develops after the initial surgery? Thanks x

What is what is the problem you had with the muscles? Is it that they wouldn't relax around the implant and is that just bad luck or something to do with having strong muscles from exercise? Sorry to hear you're still having problems - I hope it's not too severe? X

Re: Capsular contracture - recurring?
I've just had re op for cc. Had grade iv in righty. My surgeon said I have a 9% chance of reoccurrence :/
I believe my cc began because I developed monthly seromas in my breast that was brought on my hormone fluctuations. It probably irritated the scar causing it to squeeze.
Am 3 weeks post op and terrified of it happening again :(
Are you having issues with cc yourself?

Re: Capsular contracture - recurring?
Unfortunately I think its just one of those things. Some girls will have a predisposition to it (I know there was one girl on here who was on op 3 or 4 for CC within a couple of years). Others it might just be a one off and fixed. I don't think there's anything to do to prevent it. There's lifestyle choices (eat healthy, don't smoke etc.) and there's implant choices (textured or gummy bears have a lower rate), but if you're gonna get it, you're gonna get it I'm afraid.
