re-op over and done with!
Well I have actually managed to get dressed today and shuffle my way downstairs as I was sick of being bed bound... so thought I would come downstairs and tell you girls how I got on with my re-op :D
Well I got my re-op 3 days ago, which was for bottoming out... turns out that once I woke up my surgeon said that just as well we were replacing my right implant with a bigger one (to fix slight asymmetry that some of you will know was bothering me) as my right implant had actually ruptured. He said it was broken open at the top and he'd never saw one rupture so soon from being put in, he has no idea what could have caused it and said I shouldn't worry as everything is ok inside now.
I hadn't even the slightest clue that it was ruptured which is a bit worrying as I still would have no idea what to look out for in the future :/ and my surgeon actually wanted to wait another 3 months to have my re-op but I was sick of waiting and pushed him for it now, so just as well...
My hospital stay was not anything like my first time unfortunately... was the complete opposite and I ended up in tears with one of the nurses who was so very rude to me. I eventually got the courage up to tell her not to speak to me like that and was quite proud of myself as I've never stood up for myself before hahaha!
I had 3 courses of antibiotics in a drip which was annoying, and my blood kept making it's way UP the drip rather than the antibiotics going IN me... it was all fun and games!
My surgeon is ultimately happy with my results and is happy with the size difference now. He gave me proper stitches this time round as I had a reaction the last time to the glue or something and he didn't want that happening again. So they have to be taken out in 10 days...
To fix the bottoming out he has attached the pocket to my chest wall so I'm A LOT tighter and sore under my boobs than previously, but not swollen or hard up the top, still actually squishy and soft. So adjusting to not being able to twist as much as it pulls my skin tight and hurts more. He says the stitches/scars will be quite indented to begin with but should ease out as time goes on... he just doesn't want the bottoming out to happen again.
I have had a look at them quite a few times and he has positioned them quite a big higher up than they were, and they are slightly out of shape, which I never had first time around.. they are kind of square. I will keep an eye on them but the size difference looks quite good to me I think... the 30cc did make the right difference. I shall upload some photos to my picturetrail shortly for those interested..
No doubt I have missed some bits and pieces out and my story is a bit all over the place but I am on quite a high dose of tramadol and I can't seem to stay on track haha!
My new stats are now -- Left 330cc -- Right 360cc --

Re: re-op over and done with!
Thanks for letting us know how you're doing sweetie!
Do you mind if I ask what type of implants you had? Good for you firstly for pushing for the re op sooner and secondly for answering back to the nurse! Manners cost nothing and the last thing you needed was having to deal with someone's tantrum! However sounds like you handled it well so good for you!
Now rest up, watch some tennis/trashy TV! And fingers crossed you have a smooth recovery

Re: re-op over and done with!
I had extra high profile round nagor ones...
I pushed for my re-op sooner because I felt like I was putting everything on hold till I had my surgery and then the time to recover so I was getting impatient.
As for standing up for myself, I had tears streaming down my face while talking to her but it was definitely a turning point inside me as well so i'm very proud of myself.
I am trying to rest up but struggling to sit put.. although I just done my first online delivery shopping so bought a few DVDs and munchies so will be occupied with that later... Thanks for the well wishes, only 8 days till you have yours... I bet you can't wait :D xx

Re: re-op over and done with!
I'm getting Nagor anatomicals, I think that they've got a lifetime guarantee is really good. Maybe you were just unlucky xx
Yes not long now! I had so many questions at the beginning and whilst I don't know it all, I can't think of anything that I don't know if that makes sense! I've got everything I need and my overnight bag is half packed... Just putting off cleaning the flat haha!
A bit nervous about being able to sleep on my back without turning onto my side in my sleep but I'm sure I'll be ok

Re: re-op over and done with!
lifetime guarantee is the lifetime of the implants which is 10years, which basically means if they rupture they will replace them... so although I paid for mine to be changed in the right one anyways, we then realised it was ruptured so will be getting refunded the price I paid for the size difference.
I was exactly the same, which is why I became obsessed with the forum as the lovelies here were so helpful and answered so many of my silly questions. I don't know how I would've managed without them :)
Make sure you have things within easy reach as well :) I packed well in advance the first time but this time around I just went in my clothes and took some PJS as when I got my first op I was so drowsy I just went home in my PJs and went straight to bed when I got home, which is what I did again this time around.
I find it hard sleeping on my back also but you just sort of do it, it's once you're more comfortable that you find yourself slowly awaking up more and more on your side... xx

Re: re-op over and done with!
You must be so glad you pushed for your re op sooner rather than later as that seems so soon for the implant to rupture. But it's good to hear that the asymmetry is now corrected too and you are happy with that. I'm sure the shape will settle down in time. Rest up and enjoy taking it easy.

Re: re-op over and done with!
Thanks girls for the support, I am just resting up now... kinda scary about the rupture though, and not knowing. Glad that this is it now and hopefully, fingers crossed that's me all fabulous and my additions are now the way they should be :D I feel so much happier about my asymmetry and in time will be less square and look wonderful...
Can't wait to be all healed up though as I was just starting with becoming healthy and exercising... (love junk food and really unfit) xx
