who here is a mum?
I just got back from my sons sports day, and have spend the afternoon getting filthy looks from the other mums at my sons school. I think it's obvious I've had a boob job as I'm now a 34e not a b cup lol. It bothered me slightly and got me thinking, do people think mums with ba are bad selfish parents? Or chavvy or something? I live in a well off area, and people here splash out on New cars skiiing trips etc but that's ok, yet I'm getting dirty looks for my ba that cost me 4k when my nan put 1.5k towards it as she knew my unhappiness with them

Re: who here is a mum?
I think there will always be 'glamour girl' stigma linked to having BAs.
We seem to hear here mostly about the 'Jordan' link and how people think you're getting new boobs because you're wanting to flash 'em or wop 'em out at every opportunity - its all complete nonsense of course, but some people 'want' to believe that or will use this analogy to their own mean ends... I personally think its either because of jealousy issues or insecurity issues.
And the fact that you live in a 'well off area' as you say...well, that means jack hun. Women are having BAs in all parts of the country and throughout the classes too and given the cost is now reachable to those who are less well off, its something that is achievable for all. It really doesn't matter whether you live in the wealthier or more deprived part of the country. The same thing occurs right across the board.
When you have a BA that's obvious, at some point in your life undoubtedly you will come across someone who will have an opinion about your surgery. For you personally its been your sister and now the school mums.
You have to kinda toughen up hun. I know that sounds harsh, but you had this surgery for 'you' and you have to learn to stand by that and ignore those that are too ignorant to understand you don't want to be the next Jordan, you just wanted boobs if you're finding you're getting these reactions.
If that happened to me, I'd be there the next day in a tight, low cut top, chin up, chest out and I'd be wearing my boobs loud 'n' proud! If I caught the eye of anyone, I'd flash the biggest smile at them too letting them know they can scowl all they like but its not going to take away how happy you are.
Sod 'em Lou. Who cares about small minded bored housewives anyway. X

Re: who here is a mum?
I'm not a mom, and have no plans to be, so I won't have to deal with that. But I've got to agree with cookie - who cares! Let them give you filthy looks, they're more than likely just jealous they don't have the guts to do something with their lives that will make them happier with themselves. Everyone has a body hang up, but such a small % of people go out there and do something about it. Plus never forget - happy mom, happy child.
I think you've been through a lot emotionally recently, with the surgeon not helping, your sisters darling outburst...maybe you're being a little over sensitive to it? Either way, what impact do these women have in your life? Are they your best friends, or are they women you see fleetingly for 5mins on the school run. F 'em, you get busy doing you. I get funny looks all the time coz I'm a little quirky and a massive geek. I go out in batman tees and star wars dresses. But you know what? I know I look good, I know my hubs knows I look good, and I know those women and their partners know I look good! Thats why the filthy looks come! Put on your best pair of jeans, you're prettiest cami, walk out there with you're head held high.

Maybe thinking about it, maybe it's because my sons good looking teacher was coming up totally to me and I'm single? I wouldn't say it's that obvious, as I was a 34d breastfeeding only 6 months before my ba, in fact I have some photos of me pre op with huge cleavage as they only really shrank after I stopped breastfeeding x

Re: who here is a mum?
I am a mum of 3 girls. They go to a tiny (76 pupils) village school. I have told most mums at school and have been met with support from everyone. BUT you did it for YOU no one else, so rise above it all. Big hugs xx

Re: who here is a mum?
I'm a mum of 3. Not many people know I had a BA I just told my best friends and some family members. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed at the school and to be honest if they did and were giving me dirty looks or what ever I would not care in the slightest. I love my new boobies so much!! Just ignore them if you can xx

Re: who here is a mum?
Ive still got that to come ... I havent done the school run yet but I definitely think if I have to dress up for work an get peeped walking into school I still get dirty looks from mums.... its only cos im young and skinny... its not like I enjoy that kind of attention cos its embarrassing but you do just have to get on with it. F*** everyone else that doesn't make you happy in life cos ppl will just take advantage. You have done something for you that makes you happy! Thats all that matters :)

Re: who here is a mum?
I'm not a Mum, but I bet if I saw you I'd have been giving you looks too, no spite, no nastiness, but pre BA I would be incredibly jealous. I'm so unhappy with my own I do find myself, especially now my BA is booked checking every women who's bust I see out! So just bare that in mind too, they might just be jealous of your lovely boobs!!

Re: who here is a mum?
It's terrible isn't it? I get conscious someone will soot me. I place is much self worth onto my bust that if someone has a larger bust than me I automatically feel inferior. And then I wonder if she must have had a bob job and look for signs, but if it's done well and it was the natural look you wanted, I'd never know anyway and you can't very well go around asking. Can't wait till mine are done and I feel like the full package!!!

Re: who here is a mum?
Just saw there were loads of typos, sorry!!
Glad to hear that :) I have 16 weeks to go and it's trying me mad, am already really anxious. Just timing is wrong to have it done before. So hopefully in 17 weeks time I'll feel like you do now :)

Re: who here is a mum?
I'm a mum of 2 and you do get some people having a second look but at the end of the day.. it has nothing to do with them, you did this for you and as long as you are happy that's all that matters. I've had a few people call me out on having a BA, and I have admitted to it if they've had the guts to ask.. but it's not something I have really told anyone to be honest.
