A bra 'fit' calculator!
Following on from my post on laughable online bra 'measurement' calculators, I've found an actual bra 'fit' calculator! It works by putting in the size of bra you're wearing, then taking you step by step on a fitting guide.

I'm not saying it's better than actually getting fitted but it's a darn site better than those other silly calculators!
Also, browsing through the Figleaves fitting room, there is a wealth of information on getting the right fit including the history of the bra fit (and why the original measures are no longer relevant today). I'd say it's well worth a read.

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
Just tried this as I am finding it really difficult to get bras which fit comfortably (dont have a bravissiomo near me unfortunately). I'm wearing a 32DD today but mainly wear 30E and it just recommended me a 30G! Its a good guide but not sure if thats the right result. Think its going to be a game of trial and error trying on bras to find the right size and I am going to get measured gain in a few weeks as find mine keep changing all the time.

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
Oh completely, anything other than getting properly fitted into a bra is never going to be 100% accurate.
I was originally fitted at 3m into a DD, then at 6 realised they were bulging over! They can keep changing over a year, so best to keep getting fitted. I can tell you now, they're not 32DD, they're way bigger than mine!! If there's not a Bravissimo, try googling for local independent lingerie stores, there's normally some hidden gems that can fit you just as well.

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
So when they say at 6 weeks you can buy all your new bras that's not actually true? Is it better just to buy a few at that point?
I was thinking off all the new bras I need; everyday black, white, nude, nice bras for oh viewing pleasure ;), plunge bras for going out, sports bras... Don't want to be buying all those at 6 weeks to find I've changed by 12!!

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
Absolutely not! Clinics will advise between 6-12wks until you're allowed to wear wires again. This doesn't mean you actually can! Your boobs are likely still going to be pretty firm and solid at that point, so they wont sit in a bra properly, and you may not be able to get movement from them yet. It can also be quite sore to wear them full time and you may have to 'break them in'. I know at 12weeks I still couldn't hoik them in a push up yet. Your first fitting post is so exciting, but you really have to reign it in to just the basics (and one pretty one, obvs!). Once they soften and fluff (which can take any amount of time, mine were 6m, some are weeks, a fellow June buddy of mine from last year was about 11m), they will sit much better in a bra, which is why some girls find they go up a cup once 'done'. So don't go crazy!

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
Oh no :( I remember reading that "lots of woman go bra shopping after their 6 week check..." When I was researching. This has confirmed to me they are better done in the winter so whilst they are settling and doing their thing they're under wraps. Hopefully by Christmas, which is around 10weeks, they will be a bit better as already told OH it's new bras I want for Christmas!!
I will have to get a few cheapish ones to begin with...

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
I don't know how to edit posts on my iPad, so will have to post a second, sorry. Do most people find they can resume their normal activities at 6weeks? Ie running etc, as that's what I've been told.

That is a 32DD bra I'm wearing in the picture but it probably isnt right for me. I'm still waiting to drop and fluff. My boobs still look like D shaped domes stuck on me and they are still quite firm to the touch. I tried my local independent lingerie shop which was great as the lady fitting me had had a ba herself and was a similar size but I couldnt find many bras which fittted me comfortably so will need to wait. I have had a bit of bra splurge but have stuck to the basics for the meantime.
I was told normal activities at 6 weeks post op as well and yes most things have returned to normal but I have been cautious and listened to my body and how it feels doing things like exercise and lifting. I dont feel 100% normal at this stage though as I wont lift any weights as think its too early days for that even though my surgeon has said its ok.

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
They can change shape so much over time. When I was first measured into DD at 8wk, mine were round and firm and 'D' shaped, and I had an extra 'cleavage' in my armpits where you could see the outline of the implant still! Once they D&F, they were so much more comfortable in bras. It really is a patience thing. I know its difficult, I've been in exactly the same place! But trust me.
Kez, you cant edit, only us mods can, so no worries on posting twice. Resuming 'normal' activities is such a subjective thing. On the one hand, you have to stick to your aftercare instructions, as anything you do against them can invalidate it all. After that, its a case of listening to your body. E.g, I was allowed to run at 12wks, but there's no way in hell I'd have been comfortable doing it, and actually didn't start again until 6m because my body was telling me no. You just have to pick it up little by little, and see what you can do as you go.

Re: A bra 'fit' calculator!
Ok, I'm glad I have found out these things first as would be gutted if I got my whole "set" of bras for them only to last a couple of months.
