Hi, I had mine with spire 4 months ago and was given notes on leaving. They said that if I have any root canal in future it should be covered by a course of antibiotics but didn't say why. I would speak to your dr or clinic xxx

What an cause CC? Having a root canal? That sounds suspect to me. Did you tell your dentist you'd had a BA? If you're worried, call your dentist back and explain the situ fully to him. Your dr wont just give you antiBs because you heard it on the internet.

Just looked on my notes Loui as wanted to give you the right info and it says 'any future treatment which is likely to release bacteria into your bloodstream eg root canal dental treatment should ALWAYS be covered by antibiotic therapy'. Hope this helps and you manage to speak to someone xxx

CandyCat, this would only be the post op advice 'for you', so may not be relevant to other girls.
Loui, Ive had a quick google and yes, there is risk that bacteria can enter the bloodstream via a root canal. However, there is no science to prove cause and affect for the link between this and CC. Some advise precautionary antiBs, but the risk of this is that you become immune to them and they may not work later in life when you need them. I would talk to your dentist if you are worried.
