Pre-op tomorrow - Mya
Hi guys,
Going for my pre-op assessment tomorrow with MYA, just wondering what to expect?
Will they tell me my admission time into the hospital? Do they give me something to take home with me (like another info pack etc.)? Do you think now would be a good time to update the nurse and surgeon that I've come off the pill and I'm no longer taking my medication?
Just want to know what to expect really, thanks in advance guys xxx

Hi hun, i didnt have a pre op but i'm sure the other girls will give you advice on what to expect x
Re: Pre-op tomorrow - Mya
hiya hunny the pre op is mostly answering al sorts of questions abot your past health and any meds you are on etc.
they will ask you about the pill etc too so yeah you can tell them all that stuff.
they will also check your weight and height too and take swabs from your nose, throat, axilla and groin to test for mrsa.
i got my info pack sent out after the pre op with my times etc.
it's nothing to worry about relax and have a cuppa when you are there, it's getting closer to new boobies yay

Jess the nurse will basically run through a set of health questions in detail, she will advise you on what to do and what not to do prior to your op i.e. no fake nails, no deodrant on the day of op e.t.c. She will measure your height and weight and take photos of your boobs from different angles. She will also give you a pack, basically all the information she would have mentioned during your pre op, she will also give you a card with an emergency 24 hr number incase you become ill after your BA and need to get in contact with a nurse urgently.
You will also arrange your post op date and she will basically answer any questions or concerns you might have. Which nurse are you seeing hun? I think mine was Victoria Armstrong, she was really lovely. Nothing to panic about huni just makes it more real lol xxxx

Hi guys,
Just got back from my pre-op so excited! It was Victoria Armstrong that I had too Dani and she was really lovely, went through everything just as you said! Still don't know my admission time though, she said she will call me as soon as she knows and it's usually a few days before the surgery. Can't wait now, although I'm a bit worried that as I'm an over nighter that they won't do my op until later in the day and I'll be starving all day xx
