Am I being ripped off?
Hmm slightly wishing I'd gone to see Mrs Kat as well now! I've just been looking through the 'How much did your BA cost and who with?' thread and it seems I'm paying an horrendous amount of money - £6979.
Another women from the forum who is now my friend.... Had exactly the same procudeure as me.... And her price of the procedure was less than mine, not by loads but still cheaper - £6929.
I've heard Mrs Kat is a fantastic surgeon too, and whilst looking through the thread I've seen women who have had Mrs Kat, same implants as Dr Douglas George supplies with uplift too have paid a lot less.
Why is this?
Why is this am I being ripped off or something? I'm sticking with my surgeon because I really like him, I'm confident in him and he fully understands the look I want but I'm just feeling a bit annoyed now. Xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Could be a difference in after care or anything... I have paid a lot less than some other people.. but a lot more than those who went abroad... To be honest price wasn't my first thought.. although it's an issue and didn't want to pay more then £5000, I wanted my perfect surgeon and find out prices after :) I would never pay less for an ok surgeon.
Maybe your surgeon has more experience? more degrees? more specialist care? some do extra on the sides like for example mine specialises in minimal scaring and so on...
Try not to feel ripped off - you picked your perfect surgeon and your paying for his services :) xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Just different surgeons & different price... So yeah I'm just been stupid.
No, they both are BARAPS & BAAPS registered and have whole bag of experience. Price isn't really an issue with me either, however when I know people who have had the same surgeon and exactly the same procedure for less then than what I'm paying it just annoys me! Xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Everyone is going to have paid a different amount. Even those of us using the big name companies are going to have small differences down to how much we can haggle and how they're feeling on the day. Going private is always going to be a little more expensive, and the surgeons can charge when they like. Don't forget to add inflation too, last quarters prices might not be this quarters.

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Yeah I knew it was going to be pricey initially because I went private and that's fine it wasn't an issue. Until I realised that the person who had same surgeon and procedure as me paid less. But I guess that could come under as what you've said as the surgeon could change prices when ever he wants - which I didn't know. Don't feel bad now, just thought I was been ripped off for a second. Try not to let it put a downer on you're BA love, way I look at it is it's only money!! Easy come easy go!! My uncle always says an expression that sticks with me - no point being the richest person in the grave yard!! Use your money to make you happy!! I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than making yourself happy babe xxx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Kati pretty much explained it! Everyone pays different - afterall, we are all difference cases. No one will need exactly the same, same, same procedure so the prices really will vary. Try not to compare. You won't be getting ripped off because they won't be allowed to rip you off.. As everyone else says just focus on how amazing you'll look and remember that every penny of that fee is going towards your future fabulous look!!
Take care, babe xxxx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
it can be annoying when others pay less for the same implant and the same surgeon
I paid more than most girls at the time of my BA I paid £4700 and most were paying around £3500 to £3900, I did get a cheque for £500 off my as my surgeon moved and my aftercare has been second to none, but then I went straight to a surgeon and he has been great and umderstanding through my complications and he does feel bad as he done the op but the complications i have can happen to anyone by any surgeon
So if you rhapppy with the surgeon and the aftercarem which is so important then stick with it, like a few have said the price is nothing if you get the right surgeon and aftercare for you xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Yeah absolutely, totally going to stick with him as I think he's amazing and for a second when I thought he had maybe ripped me off I was gutted. I fully understand now that obviously surgeons can change their prices, etc!! So it's ok now and I just can't wait till my day comes :) xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
No babe I know cheapest isn't always best, I'd never go with a clinic just private so I knew I'd always be paying big, just thought I was been ripped off by my surgeon because he did my friends for cheaper, only a few pounds chpeaer, but still cheaper. Ha!
I know babe not long now..... I can't wait for us to be over and done with whahoooo xxxxxxxxx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
yeah def think anything below the £6500 - £7000 for the uplift is on the cheaper side but then thats not to say that the work wouldnt be just as good

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Heya love, I wouldn't worry too much about price when you're seeing someone like McGeorge! After all, it's your body and you want the best
I've got consultations booked with Mrs Kat and MrMcGeorge, and been quoted £5,250 for McGeorge and £4800 for Mrs Kat (just for standard BA). I was chatting to my mum about the price difference and she reckons Birmingham is pretty cheap for most things, compared to other cities, so that might be partly why, and also because Mr McGeorge has such an amazing rep, he can charge a bit more? Not sure if that helps haha! x

Re: Am I being ripped off?
Mr McGeorge is an ex BAAPS president and still on the board therefore you will pay more given his status and reputation.
Hope that helps. Xx

Re: Am I being ripped off?
This is my fault!!!
I just saw this post and the thing is that I payed 6979.
Bec, who had surgery 1 month before me, she payed 6929 and I posted my answer right after I saw her post and didn't think about what price she had written, I just expected it to be the same price but it wasn't.
McGeorge is worth every pound, I would have payed the double now when I live every day with the result.
(but plz don't tell him before I have my lipo consultation and the price for that next week)
It's your body and you will have to live with the result for a very long time and you have chosen one of UK's best surgeons so it won't come cheep. But all money spent will be forgotten the day after your surgery
(Your 2 year insurance is also included in the 6979 price and that is worth 200 pounds.)
