Profile - implants
Hi girls
What's the difference on the profile bit on an implant?
I hear people talking about different profile - what does this mean??
Sorry if I'm being abit dense!!!

Re: Profile - implants
It's the forward projection of the implant, so how tall it stands essentially if they were lay down. So you can have the same volume of implant, but a high profile will have a smaller circumference and stand taller, whereas a low profile will be wider and shorter.

Re: Profile - implants
Charlii has explained that perfectly! So, for example, I have extra high profile implants. This means my boobs project quite far out and look massive from the side but they don't actually look very big from the front view and I don't have a lot of side boob. It completely depends on the look you're going for, babe :):)

Re: Profile - implants
And i'm the opposite to Tiger - look busty from the front, but not from the side.
It's worth mentioning that your breast width measurement (this is your natural breast pocket) may influence whether your surgeon recommends moderate, high or extra high profile. I had a very wide breast pocket, so could have 460cc moderate profile - but this wouldn't suit those with a narrower frame. Going higher profile is a way to have a larger implant (if this is the look you want) whilst ensuring they still fit your frame.

Re: Profile - implants
All exactly right. At your consultation, your surgeon would have taken your bwd. This will directly affect the profile you can have. Too wide and you might tear through the chest wall and end up with monoboob. The surgeon will make the best recommendation for you.

Re: Profile - implants
I had extra high profile because I have a very small bandwidth... so to get the extra volume I need to go out instead of wide of it would have stuck out the sides and under my arms... :) xxx

Re: Profile - implants
Thanks for the info ladies - when I saw my last consultant he didn't explain this.

Re: Profile - implants
Just to note, it's not based on bandwidth. Two girls can both measure a 32 band, but one may have a larger breast width diameter than the other, meaning they can accommodate a wider implant. They should recommend an implant size that's about 1.5cm either way of the size of your natural breast pocket.

Re: Profile - implants
Charli that's what I meant and couldn't think of how to say it ^^ a smaller width diameter thingy. I measured 11 so he wouldn't pick any higher than that for an implant. Xx sorry for the confusion.

Re: Profile - implants
No worries Kati :) I've no idea what my BWD is to be honest, but I was recommended XHP so I assume its small. Im glad though, anything wider I think would have looked awful on me.

Re: Profile - implants
Yeah! I just totally got confused between BWD and bandsize haha - mind blank
Mine was 11.3 or 5 of something so he said he didn't want them that close together or hanging over the sides so we went smaller base and extra high profile, which im thankful for :) he said medium wouldn't gove me enough so it was high or exta high, so I went extra high :) xx
