normal proceedure??
Hi ladies, just received my date/time of admission letter from hospital, all it says is usual don't eat drink etc and to 'drop in sometime' prior to admission for an mrsa swab, -no pre-op appointment or information at all, no advice on post op bras etc(not that I need it with info on here but that's besides the point!) also should I request all post op info/guarantees/aftercare in writing?? Prob overreacting but seems very slack of the hospital as not even had contact from them since consultation 7wks ago xx

Every hospital is different. They may give you all the pre-op info when you go for the MRSA swab but just ring them up and ask. Chin up. Not long now until your BA.
They will have no problem sending you the aftercare policy in writing. It's probably administration gone amiss xx

yes some hospitals do pre-op checks, some don't, but it is quite normal so don't worry.
and i would ask for your aftercare policy in writing, just in case. it's always better to have it x

Re: normal proceedure??
Hiya, babe! As the other girls have said, yes I think it's normal for all hospitals to have different procedures. They're clearly doing everything by the book as they have requested you have the required checks such as MRSA etc.. :)
I'm sure they'll tell you beforehand what you need to take to the hospital, what you should expect on your op day and what you need to do after your op. All this care is included in the price of your BA so they will definitely give it to you. They may tell you on the day you go in for your checks or they may ring/email you what you need to bring on the day and what you should do after your op. Don't worry, babe!! :):)
Eeek it's getting exciting now isn't it? A massive good luck to you for when you have your op! You'll love it xxxx

Thanks everyone, will contact them Monday about getting everything in writing. Why is it you always want to know something on a weekend/bank hol when they are shut? Still got 3 wks to go but trying to get everything sorted ready, really want the op but think I had a bit of a wobble when I saw date and time written down xx

Hahaah I was thinking the exact same thing today, honey! I always order things online when it's Friday and then they don't get dispatched until Monday -- So annoying haha!
Ahh bless you, babe! It sounds like you're very excited! Just enjoy this time and use it to get everything all prepared, including your transport to and from the hospital, your hospital bag, arrangements for aftercare at home and general chit chat on here! You'll get more and more excited every day. You'll be thinking, dreaming and breathing boobs by the week before haha! :)
