a little offended

I forgot to mention in my last post that the surgeon I saw today said there was another option to a BA, which was a fat transfer. He mentioned this whilst grabbing my tummy and saying he could take some of that fat hahaha!

OH! Cheers haha! Hysterical

I'm a size 10/12 so not really offended when he had a little pinch of my tummy.. I just thought it was quite funny- cheeky sod!

I think that's very offensive and inappropriate as Kdee says..
He had no right to grab your tummy and assume you would want to be any slimmer. That's your body and he shouldn't be treating it as an object that he can mess around with and adjust. You went to see him for a consultation regarding a Breast Augmentation, not liposuction, so he shouldn't be assuming you want to go any slimmer. Of course you could consider a fat transfer but I don't think he should have suggested this without you showing any signs that you may want this option.

The cheeky sod! I know you might have laughed it off but that might have been crushing to other girls! He wasn't exactly on a charm offensive was he - I'd go somewhere else if I was you.

I agree. You might have laughed it off but that might really damage other girls' self-esteem. If that was me I'd be extremely upset and offended xxxx

I think that is outrageous to be honest.
I have bit of self esteem issues and if someone had said that to me I would be very very upset about it all.
I found it hard enough when one of my surgeons pointed out very bluntly how very unsymmetrical my breast were (which one surgeon point out ever so slightly). Another of my surgeons tried to push me into having laser treatment on my breasts (as if id already made my mind up that I was seeing him) and that my BA was pointess if I didn't get it done. and that my skin was in terrible condition.

Some of them are complete asses to put it blunt. I would make a complaint, if someone comes in tere and isn't 100% confident it could really affect them and the way they see themselves..

Glad you aren't affected by it and can laugh it off xxx

Kati's words are very true!!

My surgeon also pointed out the my boobs were asymmetrical but he didn't once make me feel uncomfortable about it. He just simply stated it and said it wouldn't be a big problem or noticeable. I think some surgeon's forget that they're actually dealing with girls with feelings and instead look at us like we're just another set of boobs to make money on.
Make sure you pick a surgeon who treats you like an individual and considers your opinions and thoughts :) xxxx

yeah, i think you girls are right. I think it affected me more than i first thought.. I caught myself looking at my tummy in the mirror a few minutes ago and sucking it all in. I did actually suffer from an eating disorder when I was a teenager so although I laughed it off, I suppose it did hit a nerve.

I don't think it was done in malice, just flippant and perhaps he didn't think first. The more I think about it the more I realise the whole thing today was a shambles.

ON TO THE NEXT SURGEON haha! it's like bloody auditions lol! thanks for all your support girlies, I love you all and this place Hug

Surgeons sometimes have bed side manners alot don't!! They are in.cosmetic surgery alot so just say it like it is

My surgeon was always spot on.on telling me things xx

you will don't worry, takes time but its totally worth it... to be able to trust them completely and let them have so much free rein on your body... you need to find the perfect one :D xx

Wow!! How slightly inappropriate. I remember the first surgeon I ever went to see made a comment about my boobs and me needing an uplift! I thought my boobs where great until he said really inappropriate. Naughty surgeons! xx

You hear loads of stories of surgeons making 'inappropriate comments' like that. Truth is 1) a lot of them are from other countries where they don't have as much English reserve 2) they often don't have bedside manner and 3) They see you as a model that they can mould into their perception of the best for you. The latter can be taken as a compliment...as long as they stick to the reason you went in! I think if Id have gone in and he's said 'why don't we look at fixing that nose too' I'd have turned on my heels!

Its funny, I was catching up with a show on Venezuelan beauty queens last night, and there was this one dude judging all these beautiful women - your too fat, your nose is crooked, you need your boobs done, teeth filed - and they all just took it and did it! Cultural differences!

Try not to dwell on it too much. You'll find the right one eventually.

I watched that with my mum as well... very different. Also how easily they got stuff fixed just because one man said to fix it... and not to be judgemental but he was a very good looking chap himself.. maybe he should fix himself before fixing everyone else :P xx

Cheeky sod. Consultants and doctors aren't known for having great bedside manners....There are ones who are excellent though.
A size 10/12 is slim babe. Don't get yourself down and stop sucking your stomach in.
My consultant gave me the same choice ( I have fat stomach, thighs and bum and a size 14) I was insulted but left thinking ooh lipo take it off my thighs lol.

Next time you see him tell him he upset you and wouldn't like that option. Im sure he'll understand or didn't mean to sound rude to begin with xx

I do remember when I went to see my surgeon when I thought/knew I had CC he was like "yeah their not looking great are they" lol yeah thanks for that

however he did do everything to get the boobs i wanted and he is still helping me with that xx

I think they probably look at us as something to be fixed, like you ladies have said but being personable is so important to me.
