knocked my boob :(
I was in bathroom and somehow I managed to knock my hand into my left boob.. It didn't hurt but I'm paranoid now that I've caused damage.. Am I ok to put some ice onto it?

Re: knocked my boob :(
Thanks hun. I have been checking them every 10 minutes to see if there's more swelling. It stings a little bit now (but it could be me being paranoid!). I am a natural worrier so to speak so I hope I haven't caused hematoma :( so annoyed that I managed to knock myself by pulling PJ pants up and my hand just slipped and swung into my boob!! Silly accident... xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
yip keep resting and you will be fine, remember that swelling sometimes comes day 3/4 normally so if you do swell its probably that and not the knock xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
yip def do it get a cold bag of frozen peas or something and sit it on the top part of your boobs, not anywhere near the insitions
If you can get the nelsons arnica gel and put it in the fridge its great relief for the heat that you can sometimess experiance when the swelling comes xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
yeah the gel was just such a relief as it was ice cold going on over out the fridge
but yeah get something cold on there maybe a few times a day and the swelling, if it comes might not be as bad xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
I punched myself in the boob so many times. Still do! Your bodys just not used to them being there! Im sure everythings fine though, keep on top of your painkillers and ice across the tops only.

Re: knocked my boob :(
Thank you Charlii. I've iced the tops and it feels nice. I feel where I punched myself now though- feels kind of numb. It's below the nipple above the incision. No major swelling observed in the last hour so I hope I got away with it. It's only over 48 hours so lots of healing is taking place inside... I'm way too clumsy xx

Aww Kdee, that's not so good - glad the ice is heloung, I'm sure you didn't hurt them that much but I understand your paranoia for your new babies. I am also clumsy which is why I'm taking extra care.
I keep forgetting that when I turn my head to the left a certain way my muscle jerks and hurts a huge amount, but I still end up doing it...
Also while leaving the hospital I tried to close my mums car door and it was stiff and I deffo hurt a muscle doing that but try not to worry too much. xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
Ahh, honey, the paranoia of your boobs has already kicked in haha! We treasure them like they're bags of gold don't we? It's perfectly normal for you to feel paranoid that you've damaged your boobs. I, too, have knocked my boobs accidentally since my op (It's because they're so big they just knock into everything as I walk.. HAHAHA JOKE!)
But yeah, if you start to feel any pain or additional swelling then place some ice on your boob :)
I hope you're okay, babe!! Be extra careful from now on haha xxxxx

Re: knocked my boob :(
Thanks Kati and Toni. Yes they are literally two bags of gold worth a lot of ££££ to me :)
I'm going to be super careful from now on. I think I got away with the knock so far. No major swelling/pain. Feeling some pain like a bruise feeling but this feeling was there before too anyway. Being really good girl from now on and don't rush when getting dressed...
We are going out to Reading tomorrow for my birthday lunch so if I'm still paranoid I will pop into Transform to see the nurse over there just in case xxx

It's great that you're able to get dressed and go out tomorrow! You're doing really well! It took me 2 whole weeks before I could go out. I was laid up all day, every day over Christmas so it sounds like you're doing very well indeed :)
Ahh, the beauty of the Transform nurses! They'll see you whenever you need them, babe, so pop in if you're still paranoid :) xxxx

Re: knocked my boob :(
I'm feeling really well in general. I hope this continues. Felt a bit squeemish earlier when I knocked the boob but I'm sure it was the panic kicking in... I think my left has slightly swollen up but OH can't see the difference so if I still feel it's still different tomorrow will see the nurse in Transform. Mind left was more swollen yesterday too. I'm such a worrier xx

Re: knocked my boob :(
Hahaha, it's natural for one to be more swollen so I guess it might just be a coincidence that that one's swollen maybe? I know that my left was very swollen for the first 2/3 weeks and it went so hard at night too! I was so worried that it would be much bigger than my right and now they've completely settled :) So don't worry, chick!
It's bet to be a worrier, you'll take more care of them in the long-term haha ;) xxxx
