sports bra size
hi girls im a 34A getting 300cc unders which should take me to a full C. Should I buy a 36C sports bra for directly after surgery or do I need to increase the cup size and get 34D maybe? Or should I buy a couple in slightly differing sizes? xxx thank you

Re: sports bra size
Its so difficult to tell really. My surgeon said he'd take me to a full C...when really they were DDs during healing! Firstly, I would double check your band size. Take a tape measure around where your band sits, and the reading in inches is your size. So for example, I measure 31", so I wear 32. If you really are a 34, then to save money I would stick with 34band bras and get some bra extenders to account for the swelling if you're getting back fastening ones. Cups size is going to be a little trickier. If he says a C, then it might be worth (closer to the time) getting a C and a D, seeing which fits best post op, and send one back.
Alternatively, theres always the Macom which only needs your band size, and will support up to a HH! I spent a fortune on post op bras, and really wish I'd just gone straight for this option.

I think I have measured my band size wrong! I measure 29 and a half inches but read online that you need to add 4 inches on to get your correct band size!? so I assumed I was 34!

Yep, that's how so many girls are in the wrong size. I was wearing 36 for years because of this. Its the old way of measuring with the +4/5. Bras these days are made to fit, even though so many stores will still use the old method. Its a marketing scam so that they can stock a smaller range of sizes and sell more.
If you measure 29.5", then you're likely a 30/32. With 6weeks to go, it might be worth going to get professionally fitted to be sure. You might even be pleasantly surprised!

oh I see! how confusing, it makes more sense as I didn't seem to think I was 34 as im quite petite on top and my friend who is a similar size is only a 30!! Thank you:) yes might have to go for a proper measuring! will this effect the size I turn out with 300cc implants do you think, as I told my PC I am a 34A ? xx

I had the same problem before I came on here. I wore a 36A for 3 years but after measuring properly I am a 32dd apparently. I am wearing a 34D though as it's more comfy. Xx

Yeah, I thought I was 36, so technically I did get a C...but a 36c is a 32dd! I was constantly tugging it down too, I though it was just coz there was nothing there to stop it riding up! Turns out it was 4" too big!

Re: sports bra size
Personally I think you should get a 36D babe!
I was a 32AA and after surgery I wore a 36C (and even this felt pretty tight as I was very, very bloated!!)
It's very hard to tell so why don't you get two sizes.. But definitely get a 36D as I'm sure you'll be swollen after surgery and you need room to breathe and relax especially the week straight after your op. You don't want to feel restricted in any way.
Take care, babe xxxx
