Going in alone!
So I had arranged for my youngest to stay with daddy number 1 (dad to my other 3) I'm worried about the lack of space at his.
He plans to put her in a toddler bed with her 6 year old sister. This was fine when he had her whilst my mum was dying but today I looked at the tiny bed and bedroom and realised she'd be sleeping under a shelf which hold a TV so now worried it could land on her. (they would top and tail what if she forgot and sat up)
I said I'd provide a makeshift bed but he says I'm being silly.
So I'm laying here worrying and have now decided that I'm not comfortable with it so she's not staying.
I'm going to call hospital Monday but their probably not going to allow kids in are they?
So now I've just sentenced myself to go in alone so scared

Re: Going in alone!
Aw, babs, you don'g sound like a molly coddling mum at all! You sound like a responsible, caring mother who doesn't want to worry herself about whether her daugher is going to be crushed by a tv! Anyone would agree that that isn't a good set up for sleeping..
So where is she going to stay, honey? I doubt the hospital will allow kids but, then again, they might do?
And what do you mean you're going in alone? Do you not have anyone to go with you?
I hope you're okay babe xxxxx

Re: Going in alone!
Hi Sahara, just to say that i have 2 wee ones and decided best thing to do was say my goodbyes in the morn of BA, left them with their dad, went to work by train til half 2 then headed to hospital from there. I didn't go home first as i knew i might get emotional plus they wouldn't want me leaving again. I really enjoyed having thinking time to myself and actually treated it as a wee adventure just for me! Rarely get time to myself and bet youre the same? I had a couple hours in the hospital before my op and i just chilled with a book then it was BA time. My hubby came for me lunchtime the next day and my sis watched the boys til we got home. Would it be bit less stressful to leave the children with ur fiance and go yourself, u cant be stressing about the wee ones being cared for! Best wishes Di xx

Re: Going in alone!
I'm really scared about this whole procedure but the worry about her getting injured or worse is more scarey.
So going in alone x
I just hope I don't have to wait to long as I could run! Seriously I'm that nervous

Re: Going in alone!
Hi Sahara I went in alone because everyone had to work. It actually worked out better. My mum had my little girl so I didn't need to worry about her. I didn't need to speak to anyone about what was happening as that would have made me more nervous (no goodbyes when you go to theatre). When I woke up I could just go up to my room and chill out until my fiancé arrived. It was quite relaxing. You sound like a great mum who always has her kids so take this opportunity to relax xxx

Re: Going in alone!
I have to say I think saying goodbye to even.my husband to go to theatre would have upset me and worried me more, so saying gdbye at the door and heading to my room.myself was easier, for me xx

Re: Going in alone!
Aw bless you, you're just a very caring mummy!
Please don't worry about going in alone, i went alone to mine and it was fine - in fact i quite enjoyed it!
It was turning into a bit of a logistical nightmare getting babysitters for my two babies. I decided the stress of worrying about them was worse than any jitters i had about the Op. Trust me, they will look after you and it will all be over before you know it . xxxx

Aw Sahara you'll be so well looked after at Hos you'll be fine on your own. My Hubby took me in and sat in my room for a bit until I sent him away as I much preferred to be on my own as his loud biscuit munching was upsetting my pre op thoughts.x

Re: Going in alone!
Actually your right. Seeing her little face before I go in is going to make me bottle it. The idea that I could die and leave her would be too much at that moment.
So going to do it alone, I can do it and knowing that you've all done it helps x

Re: Going in alone!
I went alone and much preferred it as probably would have got more anxious had there been someone with me, so had hubby drop me off and visit once it was all over.
If you really need your partner there with you could you not maybe have your kids dad clear the shelf of the tv etc just for that one night so your wee one is out of harms way?
You'll be fine what ever you decide , the op etc is over really quickly and you'll be sitting up with your new boobs before you know it! XXX
