Hi I drink green tea but I've just read some where that it's a blood thinner is this true should I stop drinking it my op is 13th march

Some of the very properties that make green tea so great for you have the potential to mess with your blood tests and operations. Green tea can prevent blood clotting, much like aspirin does (which is why you need to tell your doctor if you drink it).

I started drinking it last week as my friend recommended it as I was retaining water due to being on my period I will stop drinking it straight away I'm seeing my surgeon on 28th feb but will ring on Monday and mention it thanks

I am sure now you have stopped drinking it, it will be fine. You still have a few weeks to go yet - I didn't know that about green tea though. Thanks for the 'heads up' as I drink this.
