Its entirely patient/surgeon dependant. I think its mainly associated with unders. I had to wear one 24/7 for 6weeks. But they will provide you with 1 or 2 if necessary, you don't need to worry about getting them yourself.

i was like charlii, had to wear mine 24/7 for 6 weeks, plus i was in sportsbras for 12 weeks.
at the time i was one of the longest lol, with many of the girls on here being given the all clear between 6-8 weeks, but it entirely depends on surgeon's preference and what they think is right for 'your' body.

it is more commonly associated with unders or partials as in some cases the muscles just need a bit of encouragement to let go, and we want the implant to settle in the right place, not as my surgeon jokingly said, up by my ears haha.

it is a tiny bit annoying but honestly you do get used to it. i was wearing it in the height of summer as well, but i wore my vest tops back to front so the higher side hid the binder. in winter its obviously easier and you don't have the hot and sweaty issue to deal with.
but you do get very used to it.

if you ask your surgeon in advance he will be able to tell you most likely if he is planning to use one on you or not. but like charlii said if you do need to wear one you will be supplied with them. x

I have been told I need to wear one but just assumed it was for a couple of weeks. Seems like I may have underestimated this. Oh well at least it's winter. And I will add it to the new list of questions for my surgeon.

After surgery I'll have 2 compression bands put on, one on chest and one under boobs. 24 hrs after surgery top band comes off then 48 hrs the bottom one comes off x x

I have to wear one for six weeks 24 hours a day. Will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow so nearly half way there! Hated it at first but actually quite attached to it now! Just difficult to wear a nice top with it on! Glad it will be off by Christmas! xx
