Re: next BA?
I reckon about 5-6 years time (when implants have been in for 7 years or so) I will get bigger HP implants, around 500cc although my fella might need convincing cos he doesnt want me to go bigger!!

Re: next BA?
I think that its good to go in hoping that you dont need another BA but its always good to be realisitic and think that you might need at least another BA and also there can be complications
Im sure that you are being silly and you prob just feel like you look bigger than you actually are xx

Re: next BA?
I'm hoping to get a good while out of these ones and when they need done again will keep around the same size! I quite like smaller boobs on me that is! but maybe change the type of implant to anatomical or conical to hopefully lift my nipple or the cm or so I think they need lifted. I think I have quite good skin as have no stretch marks after my three girls but only time will tell! maybe boobs will be resting on my lap in years to come....lol x

Re: next BA?
Who is your surgeon hun?Misszc wrote:Ive been told i wont need a BA after this one.....if all is well.....dont need them replacing every 10 years...only if something goes wrong or i want to change xx
I was very naive when I had my first BA and was told the very same thing as yourself - not to worry, my implants would last me a lifetime and threw in the old "if it ain't broke don't fix it" just for good measure too.
3 years later I was back on the operating table with a ruptured implant.
I only WISH I knew then what I know now hun which would have spared me A LOT of distress when it happened prematurely to me - it wasn't supposed to happen. My surgeon said so.
What a crock of crap that was.
The FACT is that 1 in 5 of us WILL need to have our implants changed within ten years on being implanted. That's a whole bunch of us who are going to need another surgery after the primary one. So please babe. Listen to the FACTS that are out there and read the report yourself if you'd like HERE
This isn't a figure plucked out of thin air. This is a detailed report written by the FDA.
To quote the MD, director of the FDA's Centre for Devices and Radiological Health, Jeffery Shuren, "Breast implants are not lifetime devices."
Its also advised that we ALL have an MRI every 3 years to check for 'silent ruptures' probably what a lot of women who have had implants in for 20-30 odd years may well have. These ruptures show no symptoms and unless your body reacts to the silicone as mine did women may well be walking around with silicone in their body from possible leakage of these silent ruptures. Unless they've actually had their implants checked, which chances are if they've had them in that long they won't have if no symptoms were present simply because they weren't aware then what we KNOW now.
So there is ALWAYS the possibility that any one of our implants might break at any time and unless we keep check on them, that notion that some surgeons put in their patients heads suggesting we won't need another surgery and if it ain't broke don't fix it, then those women may never know that its possible their implants ARE broke and they DO need fixing.
So don't listen to your surgeons statement babe. What you were told is terribly, terribly wrong.
We all can hope that we will be the lucky one who WILL have our implants for life, but we'd be foolish to bank on that and wise to know the possibility is ALWAYS there and to keep check on them to ensure we aren't missing anything that may very well need fixing. Xx
To answer Tinks question: will I have another BA?
I 'hope' my implants last me another 5 years. Whether I need my boobs fixing or not, I'll be having my boobs changed then.
I'll be 50 then and I want my boobs smaller. I 'hoping' for the size I want (a D cup) that I have enough of my own breast tissue and with the help of a possible fat transfer that I'll be able to get away with not having implants next time. That way it really will be my very last op.
If I do however need an implant to help achieve my desired look, then so be it. But when those need changing and I will keep those up until they do need changing, I'll have them removed after that, so I've possibly got one more BA ahead of me, but I'm hoping not and that a fat transfer will be enough. Xx
