Merry christmas all!!!! I was just wondering approx time scale on how long everyone elses new boobs took to stop being uncomfortable? For one my nibbles seem sore and also round my band area at the front, I'm wearing a size 36 when I'm normally a 34 as I can't wear a 34 at the mo as really becomes really uncomfortable, I'm 18 days post op so was just hoping that soon they will get abit more comfortable, would really be grateful to hear how everyone else's feels or felt arnd this stage, I know it's a time thing but would really like to forget that I've got them instead of constantly knowing their there if you know what I mean!

Post by tigertonix 26th December 2013, 6:19 pm

Hi babe! You've basically asked the question i really want to ask!! I'm 6 days post-op and have gone up two bandsizes! I was a 32/34 before and now i'm a 38! I'm so swollen and my belly looks 6 months pregnant! I'm usually quite slim and i just look so bloated and swollen! So i'm just letting you know that you're not alone and i feel your pain! My nipples are also becoming painful too! And my left breast feels a lot harder than my right. I constantly know i have them and still find it hard to do simple tasks like brushing my hair, going to the toilet etc... I hope you get better babe! I just wanted you to know that it's 'normal' to be like this. Happy healing honey!! Good luck xxxxxx

Thanks tiger, lol these boobs are hard work, just really want to feel normal again, mine were like yours at 6 days but they are loads better now but still abit uncomfortable, I can do normal stuff but just always feel sore but it's not enough to make me take pain killers, they're still hard ish but nowhere near what they were at 6 days post op so have faith as they do improve day by day, but would really like to know when others got to point where they didn't wake up first thing in the morn and think ouch boobs lol oh and the swollen belly is normal I had it

Ahh it's reassuring to know that yours have improved along the way then! It's unfortunately a very long process but i'm sure it will be worth it in the end :) Have yours grown over the weeks at all? I look at other people's picturetrails and their boobs appear bigger as the weeks go by! It's really goof that you're managing to avoid the painkillers! I'm still on cocodamol and ibuprofen because the pain is so bad and tight. Don't worry babe, it'll qll get better i'm sure. What size were you pre-op and what are you now? And when did your bloated tummy disappear? I'm so worried xxxxx

Swelling and nerve sensation which can be pretty uncomfortable does vary greatly from person to person babe.

Whilst you are going through this you can help to make yourself a little more comfortable by using the round cotton make-up pads to pop over your nipples inside your bra to act as a nice soft cushion for them whilst they're going through the hyper sensitivity stage. Or some women prefer to use breast feeding pads... Whichever you prefer really will help.

You can also use a panty liner or a sanitary towel (sticky side against your bra) to help cushion your incisions so your bra band doesn't irritate them as it gets tighter from the swelling.

Hope it eases for you soon babe  Hug

Thanks ladies, tiger I was a 34 a and now I'm a c , don't think I've got any bigger but mine haven't dropped yet and to be honest think my skin is still tight I've had 300cc overs, I'm really happy with them and if when they drop fluff they get bigger than that's an added bonus lol will try the nipple cream think I've got some in the draw, thanks again ladies xxx

Aw May it's so true what the girls say, BA affects everyone so differently, you just keep listening to your body and remember those aches are just a way of reminding you you're still healing, so take care of those precious boobies.
For me the 1st week was hard with swelling, sleeping etc, pretty much 7 day mark I was driving again and off pain meds, but if I felt any aches or twinges I would just take foot right back off gas and rest up. My boobs have been feeling like my own for about 3 days now, it's an amazing feeling. Everyone's body just accepts them at their own pace, sometimes putting up a fight & sometimes just embracing them from day 1. X

Today is day 10 for me and the morning boob isn't half as bad today. I did manage a full night in bed too. No little men to kick me out! lol. Dying to lay on my sides though, but just not comfy yet! Boo!

My nipples and top of boobs was very sensitive yesterday. Not sure if as bad today yet.

Don't feel up to driving yet. Maybe next week.

My boobs are still tight and hard and just generally weird feeling!! X

I know what you mean Jen I'm dying to lie on my side again but still uncomfortable for me also, even though they are still uncomfy etc I'm so glad I've had the ba don't regret it at all, I love them and can't wait for them to settle so I can really enjoy them, just got to take each day one by one, I'm back at work in 8 days so I'm hoping they've improved more by then as I milk cows and I'm alittle worried I'm going to struggle with it!

I didn't quite get what you did for a job May, but if your Jon involves any heavy lifting or something that's going to be putting a lot of pressure on your upper body, you really won't be up to that at all babe and if its possible you could do other work that's no hard on your upper body then your GP will be able to song you off heavy duties. If not May, then you should speak with your surgeon babe but this no pressure on your upper body rule generally applies for a 4-12 week period, so you may need to be signed off for that period of time.

If you press on regardless of the advise May and do some damage to your boobs that could possibly put you back on the table, you not only risk that babe... But also the entire cost of fixing it too hun because you will have broken the contract between yourself and your surgeon and may void your aftercare. Xx

My surgeon is aware of my job I told her on first consultation, at my last post op she said I should be fine to go back after 4 weeks but to avoid any heavy lifting intill 6 weeks, I can't really take anymore time off, by the time I go back I'll be 4 wks post op, plus it's only 70 cows and on got to do sat and sun so long as I'm careful think ill be ok

Cool job. So you milk then manually? Like with your hands? Though machines did it now? Do you set up the machines that do it?

Take it easy right up till you go back and if feels too much I guess you'll have to have more time off xx

Yeah will defo take it steady, there above me im in a pit so there udders are at my stomach level so I don't need to reach up when I put the machines on, I've just been on a course before ba so I can now artificially imseminate them, I won't get myself in a position to get my new boobs squashed lol
