which bra and what size?
Hi girls!!
My surgery is next friday so i really need to get my bra soonish!
The nurse told me that i may not be allowed to wear a bra for 2 weeks after as Mr. Mahdi generally tells his patients not to.
I'm a 34aa now and i'm getting 310cc implants.. So, due to the swelling i'll have, what size would you recommend? The nurse said 34D but i think this may be too big?
Any advice? And which bra shall i get? I also don't want to spend too much on a bra that may only fit me during the swelling stage xxxx

Re: which bra and what size?
We won't know what size you will end up because your body us unique, even if you find someone with the exact same stats, chances are you won't be the same size because of factors such as your breast width diameter..
If you want the back fastening sports bras, you can buy bra extenders and buy a few sizes and return the ones that do not fit if you keep the labels on...
One last thing ild say is if you can, double check you are a 34 band size because I was told before in fittings I was a 34/36 back size and I've since found out I'm a 32..! So 2 bras I brought pre BA I can't wear because they are too big xx

Re: which bra and what size?
Although money is tight babe you're going to need to buy buy 2 bras - one to wear and one for the wash so you have continuous wear.
Always buy yourself bra extenders also with back fasteners because they will help to expand the bra band from a 32 all the way up to a 36 for you if need be.
So if you buy your 32 with bra extenders you should be fine babe.
Do get the best quality bra you can afford. You're going to need to wear these bras for generally around 6 to 12 weeks. If you're not in a bra for 2 weeks you may find you have very little swelling by then, but it's a good idea to buy extenders just incase. But because you'll be in these sports bras for so long do get the best you can hun.
I think the cheapest you'll find from the most commonly used bras here are the m&s high impact bras in a pack of two for £29 babe. Xxx

Re: which bra and what size?
M&S is going to be the best value for money, but it is so tricky working out the sizing. I was the same as Jenn, I thought I was a 36, so was buying 36C's for my recovery. This was fine for the swelling, but as soon as that went down, I was not being supported at all. I should have been in 32DDs. So yes, definitely double check your band size. Get a material tape measure and dont add anything on! I measure 31", so wear a 32.
The other solution is the Macom that you see on here. Its measured by band only, so you dont need to worry about the cups, theyll hold up to a H i think!. They are a bit pricier, around £36, but you can get 15% off by typing mybreast in, and I still wear mine to bed now its so comfy!

Re: which bra and what size?
Tiger I only got 1 Macom and I have an old scabby maternity bra to put on for just the turn around time for me to handwash my Macom and dry it over radiator. I was lucky enough to get 1 2nd hand from Rach on here, why don't you put a question out to see if anyone has 1 they've finished with to sell? I honestly couldn't recommend the Macom more, I've had a lot of swelling 1st couple of days and the Macom's just gone with it and really does feel so comfy.x

Re: which bra and what size?
Theyre little extra hook and eyes that you can attach onto your bra to make the band bigger

Re: which bra and what size?
Nice questions and answers - rather than start a new topic i will ask here - cos its to do wit bras also ...
Ok - 1stly - (hope no-one feels bad) but i echo some thoughts about the macomms - whilst they are good / perfect - they loose elascity easily - mine are loose and i am day 11 post op now ..
I have been to marks and got the 2 pack one - and i have just sat in it for about 1hr now - so cant comment at the moment ...
So now i am getting the triumph - cos it seems to be the one that is working for al
Here is my dilema - I go on mon to get my stitches taken out - nurse / surgeon have said as follows:
1st week - straps
2nd week - support bra (extra high impact) all day all night
3rd week - 6 weeks - high impact in the morning / day time - just a simple bra top for bed time
And for me - due to all i have read / due diligence - 6weeks - forever - day time (if i am out) normal bra, if i home (high impact sports bra)
night time - normal sports / crop top bra
Now here is my question:
Please state which bras you have used that have worked for you and possibly provide a link pls ..
please state if the bra is extra high impact / high impact / normal sports / crop bra..
sorry for the lengthy post.
Oh ladies - also went to marks and spencer and dropped my official 5 pages letter of complaint + my receipt.
I saw a senior store manager and i have advised - i will be taking legal action also if this is not taken seriously ..
THANKS
