Did anyone request a specific time?
Morning all,
I was just wondering if anyone requested a certain time for their surgery? and if you did- did you get it?
The reason that I ask is because I have to travel to London from Brighton which isn't too far - will probably take 2/3 hours door to door but I'm doing it all on public transport by myself and don't really fancy getting up in the early hours of the morning to travel and stress myself out. So if I could get up a lil bit later it would be laavly :D xx

Yes you can request to be early on or later... I didn't myself but have seen ladies request to be first on the list for example and got it so it's worth a shot! Give them a call :) xx

You won't be able to make any time requests Jordan.
Ladies who have allergies and those who who are regencies will always be first on the list hun....however if you were to say have something like a ummmmm *coughs* latex allergy that you forgot to tell them about! then this would change your time slot Xx

Re: Did anyone request a specific time?
ooh that's so cheeky!
I don't want a specific time as such, just wanted to see if I could request to have an afternoon slot so I had a bit more time in the day to prepare and get there. It doesn't matter massively if not though :) xx

Re: Did anyone request a specific time?
Theres no harm in asking. Though if you can only get an am slot, would you be able to travel the day before and just get a Travelodge for the night? That's what I did, I live just outside London and had to go to Birmingham with a 7am check in! £45 for the night in the local Travelodge, but worth it rather than a 3hr drive at stupid oclock in the morning!
Im more concerned that you say you're doing this by yourself. Is no one going with you? Is someone meeting you there? You legally have to have someone with you for the first 24-48hrs after a GA.

Re: Did anyone request a specific time?
I was thinking about doing that too.. it would be much easier but I work on a Friday night at a youth club so it depends if I can get off from that.
I'm only going up there on my own, my dads going to collect me the day after :) I didn't really want anyone to come with me beforehand because I'd rather deal with my nerves on my own if that makes sense? Plus I figured once I'm there I'll be sitting around for a bit then going down and sleeping mostly afterwards :) xx

Re: Did anyone request a specific time?
Hey,
My admission time was 1230 but surgery wasn't til 3.30pm but as they didn't realise even though it was on my notes I had a slight latex allergy ( found out whilst at work as i have to wear gloves at work - dental nurse)I was first down (2pm) as they had to sort out the theatre, otherwiee I would've been last and waiting til at least 5pm from 1230 with no food/ drink.

eek! I think I'll just give them a call tomorrow and see what they say and if not I can go from there... I thought I was quite organised but apparently not ha! Hopefully if I decide to stay overnight I'll be able to get somewhere what with it being so close to christmas :/ xx

Re: Did anyone request a specific time?
There's no harm in asking hunny. And if worst does come to worst as charli suggested get a travel lodge or premier inn the night before. Xx
