The ONE is.......
I really did think Hassan would have to be tops to beat Spyrou!!!
And
He is!!!! Fantastic! So thorough. Totally knew his stuff (as you'd expect with any). But so lovely too. I met him in Malmasion in Birmingham. He is director of some seminar for GP's. The seminar was on but he saw me while a talk was going on.
No rush what so ever.
Anyway.. You might have guessed. But I think I'm going to book??
One thing he said he doesn't use drains? I'm guessing this is fine. But I remember reading on here something about drains. But can't remember exactly what?

Re: The ONE is.......
I loved mr Hassan too so your in great hands! Congrats on finding the ONE lol :)
like the girls have said, drains are just down to the surgeons preference. Some surgeons use them as they believe it helps 'drain' the fluid buildup whereas others dont think they are needed and ive read somewhere that some surgeons believe they have a higher chance of infection?
But either way many girls have them (i did) and many do not and we all end up with great results in almost all cases so dont worry about that :) xx

Re: The ONE is.......
Awww I'm glad you feel you've found 'the one' Jen.
Don't worry about your surgeon not using drains babe - some surgeons feel their beneficial for primary surgery, others not hun... But its more common to see drains used in revision surgery if its very invasive due to the higher risk of infection.
Jen you can change from the 'mobile' site to the 'classic' one by simply clicking the drop down arrow at the top right corner of your page and clicking 'classic'. You'll then be able to use the pink pages instead of the grey mobile pages lovely.
To get a ticker sweetheart just follow the instructions [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] xx

Re: The ONE is.......
Elite is a relatively new clinic Doughty, so it wouldn't be surprising for mr Hassan to be Jack of all trades really until the clinic takes off.
One thing I would question for anyone using Elite is their aftercare.
This from the Elite website HERE
It simply suggests that if you needed additional days in hospital after surgery, or dressings, they'd be free and that you'd be able to see the surgeon for free over a 2 year periods and have access to an emergency line for 1 year.
But what about complications? It doesn't say it would cover all surgical costs should you have a complication or list any complications at all. This is something I'd question girls. Xx

At no point in their aftercare does it mention covering any complications?Elite wrote:Elite Surgical understands that making the decision to have any cosmetic surgery isn’t taken lightly and that's why our Aftercare programme promises to be with you every step of the way. Our highly experienced lead plastic surgeon and Medical Director, Mr Sultan Hassan is committed to giving you access to a member of our clinical team 24/7 which proves just how committed we are to ensuring any concerns or questions you have will be answered quickly.
Unlimited post-op appointments with a member of our clinical team – whenever you need them – so whatever your query and whenever it arises, you can see one of our experts at no extra cost for 24 months.
Additional days stay in hospital where needed free of charge
Additional drugs and dressings supplied at no extra cost
Access to emergency telephone support (numbers supplied at discharge) which you can use at any time during your recovery or even up to 12 months later.
Out of aftercare appointments are chargeable.

Re: The ONE is.......
He just called me back and was on the phone for 1/2 hour. He does seem amazingly down to earth and think that tho his practise is in its infancy he seems to be even more likely to go that step further to please. He literally gave me a mini consultation over the phone! Jen, il pm you as hv a couple of questions. Yes aftercare is always the issue, he said that he would be happy to give as many pre and post op apps as needed and would always set right anything that needed correcting but yes cookie something I need to push further.

Re: The ONE is.......
Cover is underwritten by Lloyds of London.
2 year cover from Qmedical.
Protects against:
Revision Surgery costs (up to £1500 per implant)
Capsular contracture (Baker scale rade III & above)
Rotation
Dislocation
MRSA
Post Op Infection
Seroma
Haematoma
After the 2 years it is possible to extend further for approx. £50 per annum.
I thought it sounded ok. What do you think?

What first struck me was that there's no mention of cover for a rupture. So should you have a rupture, it seems ALL costs to replace would be yours.
You're also only covered for £1500 'per implant'.
The average cost of a BA is around £4,000-£5,000, its generally more for revision because you get charged for explanting the implant also, so after you receive the £1500, this then would leave you with a shortfall of about £2500-£3500 should you need revision for both breasts, which after about a year if you did have a complication its very likely due to the skin stretching you'd need both replacing, possibly needing larger implants to fill the stretched skin.
Something worth looking into further babe don't you think? X
