Big weight lifted
I'm so happy...my mum and I went for a coffee earlier and we got round to the subject of surgery.. she didn't know I had booked or that I had been thinking about it and it was bothering me as I would rather she knew... For the extra support.. I always thought she would try to talk me out of it or say I was silly for wanting it done ... anyway I told her and sooooooo happy she now knows... She was fine with it and said as long as it makes me happy and that I will be safe then it's ok... To be honest what other people think doesn't bother me but mums are different...and I wouldn't have wanted to go in without her knowing so big weight has been lifted... Thanks to all you lovely boobilicious ladies for your support xxxx:giveu:

Re: Big weight lifted
I'm very envious of you ladies that had/have your mum to support you through and I'm so thrilled for you Wonderwoman.
Knowing that as it meant so much to you and that your mum just wanted to be there for you - that's how it should be and I couldn't be happier for you babe Xx

Brill news. Like you say no one matters like your mum.
I told my mum on Wed and was worried what she'd say. But all good after a good chat xx

Re: Big weight lifted
I'm sorry to read that babe. I too had breast cancer, over 20 years ago now (a small tumour in each breast) but was fortunate enough not have lost my boobs and the cancer was contained with a lumpectomy of each breast. Its a devastating thing to have to deal with but an amazing thing to survive, for both the person dealing with it and their families. I'm so glad you have the all clear babe, that really is wonderful news and I presume such a relief for your family also.Wonderwoman1 wrote:My sister had breast cancer and had to have her left breast removed so It was a very sensitive matter.. Did your sister go on to have her breast reconstructed? Xx
Re: Big weight lifted
Hi Cookie, sorry to hear that you have been through this.. So glad that everything alright for you now.. My sister fine now thank goodness however losing her breast was pretty traumatic.. She had a reconstruction using fat etc from her tummy which she was happy about lol... She had a daisy tattoo around her belly button which ended up just above her pant line so looks soo cool now.. My mum was devastated so I was scared to tell her as didn't want her to be upset , but thankfully she was really amazing about it... And all good now so happy girl tonight xx big hugs x

Awwww as a mother myself knowing your children are both happy and healthy is priority and I'm sure its all your mum really cares about - you sound like such a strong family and good or bad, its these life changing events that bring families just that little bit closer I feel - really glad things are working out....for you all.
