Genie Bra
Hi Ladies,
2 weeks post op had my dressings off yesterday and the ta tas are looking good, I am so happy with them.
Still finding it very uncomfortable underneath especially the left side.
Wondered if any of you have tried the Genie bra post op?

Re: Genie Bra
Hello, I havnt heard of them before really so I had a look online and it says that it has pockets you can slip in, just make sure you dont wear these as no padding and wires for your recovery ...
I'm not sure it might just be me and they might be fine but wait to see what the other ladies say because normally your looking for a high impact sports bra of some sort (unless your surgeon recommended this to you) xx

Re: Genie Bra
Thanks for replying,
Can anyone recommend a good sports bra? I'm having so much trouble finding one that doesn't hurt the underneath on my incisions.
Really want to retain the shape I have..because they are so perfect!!!!

Re: Genie Bra
Well shock absorbers and triumph tri action extreme always have great reviews aswell as the macom and high impact sports bras from M&S...they can be a bit pricey but you get your moneys worth because even after your allowed in wires you can still sleep in them or exercise in them... the ones from asda etc are not recommended because they don't offer the right level of support...
if your finding the bras are rubbing on your incisions you can put a panty liner (sticky side to the bra) to help protect them.
You also wont want to have the sports bra too tight because although you like the shape of them so far, they do need to be able to change over these months, a reason why you shouldn't wear wires is because it prevents them from dropping and a sports bra that is too tight will have almost the same affect...
So it should feel supportive but not leaving marks on you :)
Hope that helps xxx

Re: Genie Bra
It does thank you, due to swelling etc I've gone up 2-3 back sizes in the bras I'm wearing, I got 3 from m&s soft cup, post op and a sports. So far none of them are helping in comfort!

Re: Genie Bra
The genie bra is just a seamless lightweight bra not a support bra hunny,
A high impact support bra like shock absorber or triumph extreme or ma dms front zip high impact bra are popular on here. And all very supportive.
You'll still feel sore and uncomfortable and probably in one more than the other as you've had separate operations one in each breast.
Giving them the correct support will help your healing and keep them stable x

Re: Genie Bra
I agree with mrsball, as you might not be supporting them well enough this can also add to the discomfort! so try and get yourself a good sports bra and you should start feeling better xx

Re: Genie Bra
With having an uplift you'll want to ensure your boobs are getting the best support possible so a good quality high impact sportsbra is what's needed CMH.
The Genie bra is nothing but a comfort bra. Great for after healing, but not at all for your recovery sweetie. Xx
