Sports bra after surgery? Empty Sports bra after surgery?

Post by Vickyxox 2nd November 2013, 5:42 pm

I had my surgery yesterday with Mr Frati and he said not to wear a sports bra for two weeks post op.. I've just got the strapping on (which is driving me mad it's so uncomfortable!!) but I swear everyone else seems to wear a sports bra as well? Has anyone else been told not to wear one cause I'm panicking now that I miss heard him!

Hi Vicky, congrats on having your BA :) no you would have heard him right, we do have ladies here who don't wear a sports bra after their op, it's surgeons preference and instructions tailored for you :) hope your feeling well XX

I had maccom for the first two weeks, just bought a shock absorber front fastening sports bra. So much more comfortable although hard to get the sizing right! Having to be extra cautious as I have split my stitches in my left boob!

That's good :) it can be a bit worrying if you have different instructions to other ladies but like I said its surgeons preference with things such as drains and sports bras :) following his advice will give you the best results for you and I'm sure other ladies will be along soon who didn't wear a sports bra at first :)
Once your over the first few days / weeks it's a great feeling and you know it's only going to get better :) happy healing xx
