GA/Needles
Hi all so my reop is fast approaching, 24 more days woohoo
I am so worried about the needle again, when I had my section with Ellie 3 years ago my spinal wore off and I felt EVERYTHING they didnt believe me for around 5 mins then when my blood pressure soared they realised I was telling the truth and rushed Peter out the room and got me under ASAP but I lost LOADS of bloods and woke up in HDU and Peter had been so close to needing to sign for me to have a hysterectomy and that day has never left me and now I have a huge huge fear of needles etc
Last time I had my BA I had the magic cream and the best anesthetist ever but even though I never felt the needle going in I knew he was doing it and I started going into shock which wasnt good but the anesthetist got me under control and that was all good
However im proper stressing this time and was wondering if I told them this they might let me have the GA through the mask
Has anyone had this for their BA xx

Aww tink! going through something like that no wonder your nervous!! :(
I think you do need to let them know in advance that you are not even just scared but that you've had very bad experiences in the past so they can do everything they can for you...
if I aws that scared I would want reassurance that they knew about my fear and gave me options... I don't know if anyone here did have the mask but you never know...its worth asking I think x

Aww tink the anthestaist and nurses will help you.
My nurse held my hand whilst it was all being done ! And was taking to me and didn't even know till I felt all heavy eyed and conked out!
There ever so lovely and respectful of people's feelings and fears that they'll do everything to make you feel comfortable.
When my son had to have an o 2years ago they gave him a where's Wally book and the nurses were asking him where this and that was and then he just fell asleep and hadn't even noticed anything going on. !
I know it's easy for me to sit and say but it's mind over matter and positive thoughts and calm breathing and it's a totally different operation to the horrific one you encountered.
You'll be fine and just let the. Know and they'll do their begs to make you comfortable xx
