BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
Eeek...had my sizing appointment today and have booked by BA for the 17th of December Really excited but also really nervous. I have decided to have the 460cc moderate profile implants, which i'm hoping will take me to a nice C/D cup (34AA currently and 5ft8).
This was the largest implant i was offered, so i'm hoping i've made the right decision!
When i originally met with Mr Richards he said that i had just enough coverage for overs, but the nurse today said i had the option of either according to his notes. Based on the photo's i showed her (i'm aiming for a natural look) she suggested partial unders will be best. Are there any draw backs to this apart from it being more painful? I've heard it lowers your risk of CC, but i've just been reading about muscle distortion....so confusing!
I'm not sure if i'm an active member, but it would be so helpful to see any pics from women with similar stats. I also would appreciate any advice on preparing for surgery, i have made quite a quick decision regarding this so feeling a little under prepared!

Congrats on booking Hun.
460cc is a good size and I. Sure you'll achieve your D if not DD!
If you're uncertain of placement I would have another consultation with him. You've got loads of time before the big day and it'll iron out any worries and issues you have.
There's loads of helpful tips and tricks for pre surgery .
You should be given a sheet also by the clinic re. Taking meds and vitamins and arnica before op, when not to eat etc.
And our lovely ladies can help on the other elements such as what to buy to help aid you post op and what's you'll need and tips to do pre op for example getting lots of ready and frozen meals in to save cooking, stocking up on dry shampoo for unwashed hair etc.! Xxx

Re: BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
A nurse is NOT a plastic surgeon babe. Mr Richards has spent YEARS learning this surgery, he is a member of BAAPS/BAPRAS and is seemingly a sought after surgeon...
Now hun... Are you going to listen to an 'expert' about what they feel is the right option for you?
Or are you going to listen to a nurse, who has NO teaching in cosmetic surgery at all?
She actually had no right to go over the opinion of a qualified surgeon and I'm surprised she felt she could to be honest... Quite simply that's a little shocking and if you are concerned I'd speak to Mr Richards about that.
Its actually been proven that 1 in 5 women who are instructed on their surgery by someone other than their surgeon have problems. Those are BIG odds babe!
You've paid for the opinion and the skill of a fully qualified BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon MissCET, I personally wouldn't allow a nurse to to talk to me about what she feels is right for MY surgery. I didn't pay for her advise. Xx

Re: BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
Thanks everyone. Yes i only had the one consultation, i will be meeting with him again to give final confirmation on size and placement. I feel really confident in Mr Richards, but i'm just a little nervous that i'll get the natural look i want.
Good advice on the moisturizing and pillows - my hubby is going to book some holiday so he'll be on hand to look after me.
Cookie - Really appreciate your advice. I don't think she was going against his advice, she said that his notes said both options would give a good result for me. Perhaps she was confused?! I have chosen the size of implant, so when i meet with him again i'll ask him whether overs or partials are best to achieve the look i want.

Re: BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
Thanks Cookie, that is really helpful! I actually think the Nurse was confused by his notes today! He did say in the initial consultation that i was a good candidate for both, but i recall him recommending overs for the exact reasons outlined in that article...it's all a bit of a blur because i was so nervous!! I will get in contact with him to discuss further xxx

Trust your surgeon babe. The clinic nurse shouldn't be offering her opinion at all hun. If Mr Richards thinks going over the muscle is the best option for you, then she should respect an 'expert' in this field.MissCET wrote:Thanks Cookie, that is really helpful! There's quite a few of us who are able to have either profile, including myself, but your 'surgeon' will know what's best sweetie. Xx

Re: BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
I think half of them forget their position in the clinic and actually get some kind of self belief that they CAN offer plastic surgery advise... Even if that differs from a qualified surgeon! Its nuts! best to just take anything regarding your surgery plan from a surgeon only. There's no confusion at all then and they are afterall the expert you're paying to take advise from. Re: BA Booked - 460cc with Adrian Richards
Thanks ladies, you are brilliant - and the info regarding overs/unders has provided a lot of clarity for me.
I phoned the clinic this afternoon and explained that i am little confused about the best placement for me after today's appointment. You're totally right, i am paying for Adrians expertise so want him to make the decision on this - not me and the nurse!! I now have another consultation booked directly with Adrian to confirm placement and double check i'm comfortable with the size in advance of my pre-op appointment . Thanks for your help xx
