Crutches 7 weeks post op?
Ok...I have been waiting for more than 1 year to have a really painful hallux vallux (Bunion) removed from my left foot.
And surprise surprise I received a letter today that my surgery is planned 7 weeks post op at the 8 of November.
I emailed my surgeon and he said I was ok to have surgery on my foot as long as all wounds are healed. And they are. (But if something happens and they opens up again I cancel my surgery straight away)
But my lovely surgeon hasn't had a uplift with implants (It doesn't look like that anyway ) so my questions to you girls is if you think I put myself in a to difficult situation by doing this bunion surgery 7 weeks post op?
All scars looks calm and healed on the outside. Inside my breasts I would guess a lot is still going on?
My right boob has been a pleasure all the way and I don't have any pain from it if I don't do anything stupid like use it to much.
My left boob is, and has been all the way, more sore and sensitive. (I'm left handed)
The bunion surgery will be like this:
First 4 days I have to be very still and mostly be in the bed or sofa.
7 days post op I have to go to the hospital and take my stitches.
The first 3 weeks I have to walk with 1 foot and crutches and not support any weight on my "bunion foot".
After 3 weeks I can start to support on my foot and slowly try to walk on it.
The "main issue" here as I see it is the crutches. I don't feel strong enough in my arms to jump around on crutches. So my plan is that my husband can "pour me out" in my bed and leave me there for 4 days and after that I will only be able to make short jumps around my house for 3 weeks until I can start to walk on my foot.
Am I stupid to think that I can do this? If I don't do this now I can't see when I can do this surgery. I have a million things at work after christmas and don't think I will be able to do this in the nearest future if I cancel now.
The bunion is so painful it almost feels like my toe is broken so it would be lovely to have this pain go away.

You'll be fine Isabell... I use crutches and wheelchair babe. I couldn't use crutches for the first 6 weeks of healing, but after that it was fine hun.
Don't worry about your boobs, they'll be OK
That bunion op is sore I believe hun, so you do what's needed to get that better lovely xx

Ouch! If you're anything like a friend of mine, she had problems wearing shoes, so the op gave her a whole new lease of life and she has a VERY enviable shoe collection now lol. Xx
Re: Crutches 7 weeks post op?
I was actually thinking yesterday about what would happen if I needed crutches early on pre op!
Happy to hear you finally have your date! Xx

Re: Crutches 7 weeks post op?
Glad you've got a date hunny, I do believe having a bunion removed though is pretty painful.
My husband went in for shoulder surgery a couple of years ago and the guy in the next bed had had a bunion removed and the poor guy had been in a couple of days before hubby and when I took hubby home day after his surgery the poor guy had to still stay in!
I hope all goes well and all be worth it
And Jen what a random thought...! X

Re: Crutches 7 weeks post op?
Thanks a lot!
Yes I have heard it's quite painful. And they say the noise is horrible. The surgery is done with local anaesthetic so I'm going to hear all the sounds from the instruments when they remove it.
A bit like the dentist but louder
