Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
Help!!My op is booked for this Friday, and I'm Definately looking forward to it now,but I'm feeling like Ive not got a clue, and haven't researched it enough!I
Ive only seen Ben Chew twice, and the first time I saw him,I just said,I'd like to go natural, and I asked him what he'd recommend. He said he recommended Allergan Anatomical overs 375g.there was a slightly smaller size as well, but we both agreed that he bigger ones were better.he just looked up my weight & height,& then worked out those sizes.
I thought I was a b cup,but I think really an A,but I've been wearing padded/gel bras so long,I never really got measured properly!
Apparently,after having 3 kids,my skin has a good bit of stretch.I don't think I have a lot of upper pole tissue(correct terminology?)
Whilst I would like a natural look,I would still like a cleavage, without having to wear push up bras, although I wanted to avoid the really round, stuck on posh spice look!(no offence to anyone who's got this,it's just not for me!)& I didn't want to go too big, that the skin would look like it was stretched to the limit.
I'm wondering why he doesn't want to put implant under muscle,or partially.Im sure he explained, but iv completely forgotten. Also,Im worried that if I get the more natural look, then they might be more likely to sag,and it might be more obvious, that Iv got a bony upper pole.
I've been reading people talking about BWD's,and to be honest,I didn't even know what that was!Im feeling as if everyone else knows loads about sizes and technical stuff, and Im just going to be getting what was agreed over 2 appointments.
He's told me to buy a 36D for post op,which sounds like a good size, but from reading everyone's experiences on here,I know that will change.I don't want to go porn star big(again,no offence to any porn stars reading this!),but I don't want to go through all this to end up a small C.
God!my mind is doing overtime.I am definitely going this Friday,as I've been dreaming about having boobs for years.
Does anyone ever get natural?I keep reading about Rounds,& high profiles.Ive looked up quite a lot of before & after shots, and some of the round implants do look nice & natural too.
I'm going to email Ben,but he'll probably strike me off from getting surgery, for acting like a crazed woman!Valium, anyone?

Re: Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
Sounds like ya got yourself a good clear case of the pre-op jitters there babe.CavaLady wrote:Help!!My op is booked for this Friday, and I'm Definately looking forward to it now,but I'm feeling like Ive not got a clue, and haven't researched it enough!I

This is something that happens to so many of us as our surgery date gets close, but you'll be fine... Don't worry. Try reading through some of the surgery stories our ladies have left to be read here.just reading how excited everyone is after waking from the ga is a sure fore way of getting back all that excitement for you and if you want to want to just talk more... We're here for you hun
You're going to be just fine babe... Although the skin elasticity is good I'm thinking maybe you're pretty bony up the top hence the choice of an anatomical? Because with the right size implant rounds too would give a nice natural slope to the breast due to the fact that rounds... Due to gravity will fall to then shape of an anatomical implant anyway as seen in the diagram of an X-ray of both anatomical and round implants 'inside the breasts' belowI thought I was a b cup,but I think really an A,but I've been wearing padded/gel bras so long,I never really got measured properly.

Given also the right size (I'm sore I've been through this before lol) as you can see with my own round implants, a nice natural slope can be achieved
But... if you're bony or thin up top then an anatomical would be best as it may be possible when wearing push up bras that the round implant may be visible, unlike for those like me, who have a little more to cover it.
If you have enough 'breast tissue' there's absolutely no reason at all to place the implant under the muscle sweetheart.I'm wondering why he doesn't want to put implant under muscle,or partially.Im sure he explained, but iv completely forgotten.
For more information re placement choices then the opinion of BAAPS surgeon James McDiarmid might be helpful to you to better explain.

Having the anatomical implant (I knew this must have been the reason lol) is going to help deflect the bony upper pole you have and is going to give you a fine natural cleavage sweetie. Also,Im worried that if I get the more natural look, then they might be more likely to sag,and it might be more obvious, that Iv got a bony upper pole.
ALL breasts are going to sag. You're very lucky, your surgeon thinks you have good skin elasticity so you'll sag as you would very naturally babe... Its true that with partials it is possible that they may take a little longer to sag over the years than it would having overs... But with every positive for both placements, there could also too be a possible negative and it hasn't been unknown for the muscle to hold on to the implant and for the skin around it to still naturally sag giving your boob a 'snoopy' appearance, unlike with overs where they will sag naturally. But you have to realise babe... These implants aren't going to last for life. Chances are you're going to have have them changed again with the majority of us all having to have had to change our implants at least once by the ten year marker, so when you think in terms of natural ageing and implant lifespan.... It all works out relative doesn't it.
If you think that what you're feeling is more than just the pre-op jitters hun then its not too late to see your your surgeon again to go through these things with them if you want to know before having this surgery so you can do more research of your own before going ahead. The date can always be postponed for you hun.. You're never committed to have this surgery if you quite simply just don't feel you've put enough thought into it before deciding if its right for you.I've been reading people talking about BWD's,and to be honest,I didn't even know what that was!Im feeling as if everyone else knows loads about sizes and technical stuff, and Im just going to be getting what was agreed over 2 appointments.
Give it some thought hun... And if you think all these feelings you're going through really are more than just the jitters... Don't sot on them hun - act on them. This is a big deal lovely and its not at all wrong to want to get this right, especially if you don't feel you know enough from your surgeon to explain why these choices were chosen for yon and why they're so right you.
If there's women out there with 'porn star' boobs, its because that's what they wanted babe and they won't take offence because what's right for one woman isn't right for all babe - some like the natural look, some fake, but as long we're each happy with the look we have that's all that matters isn't it.He's told me to buy a 36D for post op,which sounds like a good size, but from reading everyone's experiences on here,if know that will change.I don't want to go to porn star big(again, no offence to porn stars out there reading this!),but I don't want to have to go through all this to end up a small C.
God,my mind is doing overtime,I'm definitely going this Friday, as I've been dreaming of having boobs for years.
If you trust in your surgeons judgement hun this is all going to work out for you, so don't worry! Its all going to be just fine.
Absolutely! My own GP didn't even know I had implants until it was found through an MRI that one of mine had ruptured. I'd had breast examinations and everything and bless her, she was well and truely fooled! We have MANY women here who have beautifully natural results hun. Having 'augmented' boobs doesn't mean you'll have 'fake' boobs which is a horrible word I hate being applied to boobs that are augmented unless he woman has specifically requested a fake look and got what she asked for... Other than that you'll have an augmented breast that will have a natural appearance.Does anyone ever get natural?I
Different shaped implants are created to help surgeons achieve the specific look a women asks for with the body type they have - because we're al different with an anatomy that is unique to us, a one implant fits all just doesn't work! So we have the different sizes and shapes available to the surgeons so they can take in our wants and work out our body measurements and from those calculate the implant type needed and the volume required to help you achieve that look hun... So for some a round implant just isn't right and an anatomical will be a better choice for them, whereby a round would be a better choice for another... Neither is right or wrong. What's right is that you get the right implant 'for you'keep reading about Rounds,& high profiles.Ive looked up quite a lot of before & after shots, and some of the round implants do look nice & natural too.
Never worry about questioning your surgeon if you have concerns. This has to feel to 100% right for you and its always best to have all your questions answered pre-op than to wait till a fur surgery when its all too late then. XxI'm going to email Ben,but he'll probably strike me off from getting surgery, for acting like a crazed woman!Valium, anyone?
Re: Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
I agree, the anatomicals would have been recommended for you due to being thin on too but unless you do not have enough tissue for overs that will always be the first choice... We will all get sagging, it depends on your skins elasticity also but if you look after them your get a longer result :)
A lot of us here get a natural look and after a chance for healing I don't think you can tell we have had a BA... You will normally always get a natural look unless you ask for otherwise...
Speak to your surgeon again, this will help and he can reassure you xx

Re: Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
It's normal to be worried prior to any procedure. Keep reading the journeys on here, and trust your surgeon that he will give you the results you want based on how he can with your stats/current breast shape, tissue etc. Good luck hun xxx

Re: Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
Cookie i do love your posts, i seriously think i would have backed out of my surgery by now if it wasn't for your "wise words"
To the OP i am also having a serious case of OMG what happens if i wake up and hate them's. For the last 3 days i have been camped with a tape measure and am implant catalogue in front of me. I am ( usually) fairly sane and i know this is ridiculous now. Im in on thursday and its all getting real for us now. I am trying to just trust my surgeon, i did good research and i think i picked well. He does this all day every day and he knows what he is talking about rather more than myself . Just think by next weekend we will wonder why we were so worried and have new boobs to show for all the teeth gnashing and moaning! I have realised i want some sort of time machine where i can fast forward to the 3rd see what they look like then base my choices on that, sadly that aint going to happen boooooo

Re: Need help!Am I being too neurotic?
Another one who thinks Cookie's posts are the best - sometimes I wonder whether to post once she has given such a thorough answer!
Anyway, all I wanted to say was that it is completely normal to be getting the jitters so close to your op, sending you hugs xx
I am very ribby and had anatomical implants, for the reasons that Cookie stated. By the sounds of it between you and your surgeon, you have chosen a good size. You don't have to have had a huge deliberation and a huge range of size, I literally tried two sizes.
Lots of ladies have put a lot of research into their implants, which is great, but I didn't. I knew the sort of size I wanted to be and I trusted my surgeon to decide on the type of implant that would help me achieve the look I wanted.
I am thrilled with mine, just as I am sure you will be, enjoy your day x

I have anatomicals and love them, enjoy the run up to your BA day, trust your surgeon and by the weekend you will have the boobs you have always dreamed off. Oh and don't judge them straight away as they take a bit of time to settle, but you will love them more and more.
Good luck! xxxx
Good luck! xxxx
