Re: Tightenings
Morning boob
Dunno why its called that, it can happen at any time can't it lol
Yes... Its very normal babe. It can last for about 3 weeks-ish for some and one of those things you simply wake up with one day and its gone!
At 12 days post-op though its nothing to be concerned about and very normal hun. Xx

Re: Tightenings
Well, you've got kids and you can only get help from people for so long so surgeons are realistic about that and suggest that after about 2 weeks, 'GENTLY' lift your little ones, holding them close to you so you aren't taking the weight in your arms.
I've seen women here suffer heamatomas from doing too much too soon and not allowing themselves time too heal, putting them back into surgery and back to square one hun... The problem also lies in the fact that if you don't listen to your surgeon and take things easy, the. You do risk also voiding any aftercare you have.
So maybe drop the super and just be a woman for a while lol. Of course you have to do what you need to do, but you can help yourself. If you know there are things in the cupboards you have to reach for, get someone to lower these these things and place them at a more accessible height. Be careful when lifting the kids... Its all about just being sensible hun and if you're sensible.. You'll be fine. Xx

Re: Tightenings
Hiya,
I found it soooo hard not to do stuff . I too have had 3 sections and have healed and recovered so quickly each time.
After having my BA I got so frustrated because I felt was so much more restricted as to what I could do due to the restricted arm movements. However, I had to keep telling myself that with the sections, babies were removed, but with the BA, something was put in and my body may not like it if I misbehave! I am a very active person and have already confessed on this forum of overdoing it when I am feeling good!!
The tightenings will ease but make sure you rest up even if you think you don't need to. It seems to be the next day when I feel the effects of overdoing it.
Xxx

Re: Tightenings
It sounds like its where the knot of the stitch is. When you next go to the clinic, if its still sore babe, do tell them about it. It may be that they can just snip the knot for you, or that massage will help it to disperse. But definitely don't massage yourself until you get the all clear babe which is around 4-6 weeks. Xx

how the hell do you add a picture to a post ?

Re: Tightenings
I've never seen anything like that babe. I think it would be advisable to make an appointment to have your surgeon look at that hun. The scar looks pretty low on your body too, from what I can see on the pic. Xx
Re: Tightenings
its just because its an upshot foto the scar actually runs along the breast crease im due to go back on Tuesday anyway

Re: Tightenings
Ahhhh OK hun. Do let us know what it is won't you babe and I hope it isn't too painful. You may find a sanitary towel over that to cushion it with the sticky side on your bra a nice relief from the pressure of the bra band babe. X
Re: Tightenings
So i popped to my friends to show her my wounds to see if she thot there was any weeping she said no but there was a fair bit of sweat so can i put a folded swab tight up under the scar /crease of my boob to absorb anything or shud i try and air it ? I know not to have bra off too long so wondered if putting a wee bit of something on wud be better

Re: Tightenings
From what I've seen sweating is normal, keep clean without putting anything on your incisions... See what cookie and the other ladies say first though :) xx

Re: Tightenings
Don't worry about sweating at all Jenidj.
Its normal babe and its fine as long as you keep yourself clean as you are doing by showering at the end of each day and thoroughly drying the wound.
Infact, researchers have actually found that sweat can promote healing! But leaving sweat to linger is not good... Like I said if you shower at the end of the day its absolutely fine fine.
You can read about the research HERE xx

Re: Tightenings
as ever thanks Cookie and Jen
Im going in tomorrow to see consultant about that swelling i sent the pics over to her and she showed my surgeon and they think its a collection of fluid possibly (seroma) so asked me to go in tomorrow get it checked :( really really hoping its just swelling around the incision and not a seroma i know thats just fluid but its a compication and that makes me super sad
