BA OFF :((
I have decided to cancel my BA apt on 25th Sept Today I saw the cosmetic nurse (for something else entirely) at the hospital where my BA is booked and like some of you guys she was pretty horrified that I was going into surgery without knowing shapes, sizes, profile etc, and that I have never been measured or tried on different sizes, she has looked into it for me and it seems that although my surgeon is a breast surgeon he does not have rights to practice plastic surgery at that hospital.
My head is spinning at the moment, totally geared up for surgery in just over a week and now totally disheartened. I guess I'm back at square one looking for a surgeon.... hey, ho these babies better be worth the aggro!!

Sorry to hear that Willow :( but maybe it is a blessing. It does seem very strange that you didn't know any of the info about your implants. It is a lot of money and more importantly...your body. You want it to be right. Good luck on finding the next surgeon! xx

p.s. i see you're in northamptonshire, i'd really recommend going to see either Adrian Richards or another surgeon who operates with his company Aurora. They are all BAAPs registered and the consultations are free. really really great company xx

Wow willow, although it must seem hard... Good on you for being so sensible and listening to your head and instincts that he wasn't right for you and not letting the excitement carry you on regardless....
From all the time I've been here ladies have always had a rough idea of all of those things!
So sorry you've cancelled and you were all geared up but the fact you did cancel tells you that you decided you wasn't happy and have done the right thing for you!
We will all be here in the quest to find a new surgeon and your BA will happen!! Although your sad, it sounds like it was the right thing xx

Re: BA OFF :((
Oh no willow, I totally understand how you feel, I was suppose to have mine done today.
Friday I got a call cancelling my op, no anaethetist. I was gutted I really was. Today has been a bit of a strange day for me.... I'm looking forward now....... I'm rebooked and not got long........ I feel your pain....
What you got to think Hunni is it wasn't meant to be, if that surgeon cannot practice at that hospital then it makes you wonder. I can't believe that you hadn't gone through shapes and sizes etc..... That's not right babe.
When you go for another consultation you will realise how it should be done..... I don't think you would have to wait too long I got mine quite soon.
Hope you get all sorted Hunni xx

Oh I'm sorry for your disappointment hun, but I'm going to echo missvmac and say it sounds like a blessing at this time. I know how hard it is to be patient (I wanted my op new year but have to wait til April, boo)!, but it's an important decision and you owe it to yourself to make it an informed one babes. Good luck with your planning, you will have those dream boobies before you know it xxx

Chin up Willow. I echo what everyone else has already said. You've definitely done the right thing. Get yourself booked in for some more consultations and before you know it you'll be back on track with a new date and a new countdown!
Good luck with the research.x

Aw im sorry you had to cancel your ba although if your not 100% happy with your surgeon it might be for the best. It does seem strange that you havent had any measurements taken or wouldn't know what implant you are getting!
Take your time and find a surgeon that you are 100% happy with and get all the info you need!
I had to cancel my original date of my ba so I do know how gutted you must be feeling, I ended up getting mine 6 months later but it is definitely better to be going into it being a lot more prepared! xx

Sorry you had to cancel Hun, but from what I can make out, you've had a lucky escape! If he's not licensed at that hospital, why is he offering that service?!
I know it must be disheartening now, but your boobs aren't going anywhere! So you've got plenty of time to do all your research & find a good surgeon that is licensed to practice cosmetic surgery!
Good luck Hun & lots of hugs. you know we're all here for you xxxx

Blimey babe! Its a good job you saw the nurse isn't it! I think you knew something wasn't quite connecting from the start though didnt you babe
I am a firm believe in fate WILLOW and believe that when when you do have you surgery with the right surgeon, then you have a muuuuuuuuuuuch better result for it.
Will the surgeon still be removing the lump you have babe? Xx

Re: BA OFF :((
Thank you all so much for your kind words and your support. I guess I should have known from the beginning really as I went to see the guy about a breast lump and it was him who suggested doing augmentation at the same time as the lumpectomy....until then I'd never seriously considered it. Bit rude of him really when you think about it lol !!
Anyway, now def want a BA so gonna do it properly this time and get a few different opinions, need to find someone who will do the lumpectomy at the same time as I would prefer not to have two ops.
Nicole - looked up Aurora and def gonna go see them
Once again thanks everyone xxx
