Pre BA is it normal to feel really excited one moment and then wonder if you're doing the right thing the next?  Makes me think I'm not ready for this journey yet!

It is ABSOLUTELY normal...it IS a big deal, whether you have waited your whole life or only just looked into it in the past few months...either way it IS a BIG deal. It's major surgery, it involves LOTS of recovery, and putting your trust whole heartedly in a surgeon....

BUT, if you are doing it for yourself, and you have researched and had a few consultations to make sure you're happy with what you and your surgeon have agreed...and happy with the actual surgeon...then absolutely go for it,  have a read through some of the surgery diaries, dig around posts on here, have a Google  of before and after pictures, and remind yourself why you want to do this, and check you still feel the same. Most of us experience nerves,  it's normal!!

Everything is normal, we are girls after all!

I was super excited, however I saw my surgeon and decided to book for a BA pretty quickly so I didn't have long to wait or get nervous!

I am sure you are ready, and it is completely normal and natural to worry about having an op x

Definitely!!!!! It's really normal and part of pre op jitters... It's the build up of excitement and nerves...

A year ago I started my BA journey and went to a consultation, I felt stressed and wasn't sleeping worrying about the risks... I decided I wasn't ready

A year on I hadn't stopped thinking about having my boobs done because I just felt so unfeminine... I stopped focusing on the 'possible' risks and booked in after finding the surgeon for me... The fact that you have booked says a lot and think about the reasons why you did in the first place...

Nerves are normal, this is a lifelong commitment but think about all of the positives this Ba will change your life and if we always though about 'what ifs' we wouldn't get very far :)

Your not alone :) xxx

Absolutely normal Willow, I think when I first decided I wanted to start this journey I was pretty blasé about it but once I started researching, it actually made me take time to think twice about going ahead. I think it has helped me to have doubts and worries because once I've found the answers to my questions I know that I'm going into this with my eyes open and armed with lots of knowledge. Keep asking any questions you have (this is the perfect place) and once you have found YOUR right surgeon and feel positive about the hospital, aftercare and procedure you can then just indulge yourself in the excitement! Good luck hunni yes xx

^^
Exactly, the more you know the better prepared you are, it's good to know what can go wrong, but also know that they are a SMALL percentage of cases, the more you research the better prepared you are hun!

Thanks everyone, so good to know I am not the only one!! Feel like I'm going nuts sometimes - so excited about having a shape for the first time in my life - well apart from when I was pregnant and then my stomach grew as well, so not quite the look I'm after!! Walking around the house with my bra stuffed with socks, feeling like a babe - then a few hours later lying in the bath scaring myself silly with all the things that can go wrong.... !! But, as Jenniferrf1 says " if we always thought about 'what ifs' we wouldn't get very far :) "
So, right now, BA is a go go!!

You may have read the term around here of having a BA being like an 'emotional roller coaster' and this is exactly what it is!

Pre-op you have all the concerns about GA and what can go wrong during surgery and post-op you have all the concerns about your boobs not looking perfect right away!

Its a tough experience to go through, but its also a pretty damn amazing one too and one that could be literally life changing for you babe!

Reading the stories the girls write here helps lots with the pre-op jitters, as well as taking some time away from boobs for a little time and just focusing on you.

The ups and the downs are all part of this process babe.... But we'll be here to hold you up through the down days and to cheer you on through the good hun.

Boobies here you come! woohoo

One minute I'm so excited and literally counting down the minutes until my next consultation, the next I'm waking in the middle of the night thinking what I am doing, what if something goes wrong? For me, I haven't found the right surgeon yet so I feel a bit in limbo as it were, so it's a bit different, but I think it's normal to worry. It means you have done your research, and you have made an informed choice :D wishing you all the best of luck on your journey xxx

Total roller coaster ride , up and down, it's totally normal to feel like it, but trust me the outcome far outweighs any doubts you may have , I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat x

Totally normal. I knew I was making the right decision when my mum said "Ok Jay...how would you feel if I said there was no way at all you could have your op?!" and my response was "gutted!" So I knew I ultimately wanted...yeah it wouldn't be easy, you might feel ill after, people might judge. But at the end of the day when you get to the end and everything is settled and you look in the mirror or just feel happy and confident with yourself you will know you have done the right thing.
