Jay1983 - getting there
Well back in my room. Have been for a few hours and am feeling quite spaced...in a good way. I know my journey has been long but I do feel blessed. I have every faith this will work this time. He's out the 460 medium profiles in and from what I can see look fab and don't feel heavy!
You will all never guess. I got a bigger room as someone was booked in for 3 procedures...and slept in and didn't turn up. Hospital were ringing her and her family managed to wake her. She then said she had slept in but she would be here in 3hrs...I find that so odd. I was up at 5.30am! In gym by 6.30am and drive 3hrs and still here early!!!!
I will keep updating to keep you all up to date! Tell me to shut up if I am boring! Ha.

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
Thanks for all your lovely msgs. I can't believe someone could miss their op...I'd be so excited.
Well I honestly had a lovely evening. The staff here at The Bridgewater hospital are completely different to the ones I experienced in london. They have been so caring and nothing is any trouble. I was struggling with food and drink yesterday...nothing wanted to go down and felt like it was all sitting at top of my wind pipe. The nurses where lovely and didnt force me to eat but said to buzz at any time.
My friend came to visit and she cleaned me up as had iodine on me. She also plaited my hair. The nurses were great and brought us tea and biscuits...kept refreshing them to. We had a lovely catch up as we are besties but live away from each other! Had some tramadol which took edge off. I was struggling with eating as everything got stuck even water and tea. Kept burping and was a little sick in my mouth.
My friend left and I chilled for a bit. Couldn't sleep so got some sleeping tablets just after 12am. Asked for painkillers but wasnt allowed any. Woke at 4am and was given cocodamol. Had a discussion with male nurse for ages saying that I needed something stronger and he just stood there reading my notes arguing his point. So I left it an hour as it hadn't worked and the nurse came and gave me something one step stronger than tramadol. I then crashed out till about 8.45am. I've had some tea and they've burnt my gluten free toast so are getting some more! She was mortified! Bless her. Mum and dad are on their way.
I am feeling happy and content. Long may it continue! Ha.

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
Awwww fab update Jay.
I think hospitals are very strict now with painkillers since its been proven how addictive they can be, so they're going a bit overboard now.
I have oramorph for break through pain on prescription from my GP and when I asked for MY pain relief I was refused by the doctor as well and I told him he had no right to be refusing MY medication. He soon came back with it. I think they test you a lot of the time to see if REALLY do need pain meds, 'cos some people are quite mardy and will have meds for the sake of taking them, scared that they 'might' have pain rather than taking them for having pain. Xx

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
Totally agree cookie. Think some people ask for meds when not needed. I just want to be comfortable. They have no right to block that. I'm so excited for mum to her here. My boobs are feeling quite tight...in a good way! I love them! Ha. X

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
I'm really trying to rest up. Currently at my parents having a lie down in their bed. It's like being a toddler all over again. I'm feeling a bit swollen in my boobs and feel a bit spaced. Went out for a walk with mum earlier just to keep active and get some fresh air. Def needing more rest this time. X

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
I'm a bit sore today but I'm actually feeling great Jay. Hardest part is I need crutches to get about and I'm unable to use them for obvious reasons, so need help getting into a wheelchair for getting around right now. I hate being dependent on people and last time I had to stay at my sisters, but my hubby's gone part time for this 2 weeks so he's about for me when I need him.
Other than that though Jay, I'm super happy. I think because I know this is it now. No more travelling to and from clinics, no more dealing with wounds. After my wound check next Monday that's going to be it! I'll get the stitches out and it'll be on the mens then ready for my jollies haha.
I think of all people you understand though Jay, I kinda get the feeling you too have that gut feeling that its all gone so right this time, so although the recovery is the hard part, its not so bad when you know its going to be so good this time.
Ohhhhhh Jay, what a bloody journey we've travelled hey. And here we are, both at the end of that hard and rocky road with great things ahead of us now.
So, so, happy for you Jay. I know I keep saying it, but I honestly do mean it from the heart. Xxx

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
I'm sure the soreness will be worth it and am so pleased that over all you are felling great! Obviously crutches are a no-no and I am sure that you do not like being dependent on others. However, I am sure they are using it as an opportunity to show their appreciation for everything you do for them. Its great your hubby is around this time as I think we relax more in the comfort of our own homes.
When and where are you going on your jollies? I go to Turkey in 4 weeks so hoping it is still lovely and sunny. The thought of a holiday is always good to keep spirits up.
I have the same gut feeling that this time it will be ok. Never had that feeling before. I just feel so much more hopeful. Its like this PS was able to get the look I wanted and also understand that I was in pain before.
We sure have been on a long long journey. I think it some ways it will make us appreciate the final outcome that little bit more. Thank you so much for your kindness and happiness towards me...believe me I feel the same back!
Here's to a speedy and happy recovery with a fresh start.

Re: Jay1983 - getting there
I know you feel the same Jay and yes... Here's to a speedy recovery to us both
I'm off to Cancun at the end of October. Its still nice there that time of year being the start of the dry season but a little cooler than the summer months. Its still hot like, but my husband doesn't fair well in heat, so he enjoys it more when its a little cooler.
Turkey is ALWAYS hot! My sister is a regular visitor to turkey and absolutely loves it out there.
So we both have a nice ahead for us to look forward to as well now....
Happy days hey!

Ah I have always wanted to goto cancun. It looks beautiful. The resort we go to in Turkey is lovely. I go with one of my best friends for a girly week in the sun. Disappointed that I won't be able to have a Turkish bath this year tho:-(
