First post op check with PS.
Hello!
Had my 3 week post op check with my PS this morning. this is the first time I have seen him since the morning I was discharged, as the nurse changed my dressings at 1 week post op.
He asked how I was coping with the pain and what I was needing to take for it. At the moment and for the last coup,e of days I have only needed paracetamol in the morning when I wake up - which he seemed pleased about.
He said my wounds are healing nicely and everything looked good and in the right place. He said "I am pleased with them!" and I replied "well that makes two of us!!"
He said I could massage my right side twice a day to push it downwards as it is still sitting sloghtly higher than my left side but not to worry too much as they should settle nicely I still need to wear the sports bra for another 3 weeks but then should be cleared for normal bras again.
I have also been given the go ahead to sleep on my side, or front, whichever is more comfortable although I have to say I don't think I will be sleeping on my front for a while as I am still tender.
I can resume normal housework with hoovering and ironing (booooooo) as long as I listen to my body and stop when I feel discomfort. No heavy lifting yet though so still need to be careful with the children. When have other people been told that they are ok to pick up their toddlers?
I asked him if it is common for the menstrul cycle to be affected (as per my post yesterday about my period being late). He said it does happen so here's hoping it comes along soon or maybe I will just miss this month as I don't even feel like it is coming soon!
I have an appointment to see him again in 4 weeks but have left today feeling really positive with a song in my step - although not too much springing!! Lol...
That's it for now I think!
Xxx
