Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Hi ladies,
Just been taking my 3 week pictures and noticed a small area on my areola incision that seemed like a tiny blister with some puss underneath it (sorry, I know that is gross!). I washed my hands and squeezed it gently and the puss has come away but left a tiny hole! I have put a bit of steri-strip on it so that it isn't touching my clothes but should I be trying to "air" it so that it scabs again? Or leave the steri strip on and see how it goes?

hey xxxx After your next shower leave the strip off and air it xxxx Not sure its good to squeeze it although very tempting i can imagine xxxx It should close xxx Dont submerge it for now maybe wait for it to close up again but as long as its dry and clean etc you should be fine xxxx
Sure others will be along with advice too xxxxx

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
I had a hole in my incision just on the corner and when I visited the doctor she told me to leave the hole free to air. Mine also was oozing a little but she said there wasn't an infection. Just keep an eye on but if you're really worried then I would suggest a trip to your gp x

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Thanks ladies, I will leave it to air after my shower tonight and try to encourage it to scab over. It's only really small and doesn't feel sore so I'm not too worried yet! Just didn't know whether to cover or air lol.
How long would be usual for it to take to close up? Just so I know when to start worrying!

Mine didn't take too long to close, I was only 2 weeks post op so was still healing anyway, I think it was about a week, not even that. X

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Thanks MrsDtoB, I am airing it now in the hope that it might scab quicker!
Thanks Sassy, I have had it a couple of years, think it was from one of the catalogues . I really hate tan lines though so have barely worn it over my strapless ones! Haha.

I really wouldn't be squeezing anything on or near your incisions sweetheart but its done now, so just keep an eye on it for the next couple of days babe. It doesn't scab/close over then do make an appointment to see your clinic nurse or surgeon to have it checked out. X

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
It's a little bit red this morning but now fully scabbed. Maybe a trip to GP? Or wait another day?

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Oh I have also woken up full of cold - is this coincidence or could it be infection-related?

Do you have a fever also? If you're temperature has spiked, I would definatetly see someone, it could be an indication of infection. Hope all's well

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Ring the clinic hon and see what they say as its obviously a worry to you xx high temp and fast heart rate are really what you need to look out for as indicators of infection so you should be fine but ring the clinic to put tour mind at rest xxx

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
Do see your clinic nurse hun. Any redness after seeing puss should be investigated. It would be wise also not to shower and keep the wound dry until its been checked out hun. X
Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
My clinic is over an hours drive away, do you think I would be ok to visit GP?

Re: Help! I've Got a Hole!!
It would be better if you went to the clinic nurse hun, so they can also take swabs if necessary and add to your notes.
Remember if its not in your notes and you need to complain about anything - it don't ever happen!
My advise would be to ALWAYS see the clinic nurse or surgeon for any concerns so you have them documented.
Its entirely your decision though hun. X
