Natural cup sizes look bigger?

So I have heard a few ladies now saying natural boobs look bigger than 'false' boobs even though they are the same bra size! Why is this? Surely if you fit into the same bra they look a similar size? I'm just confused! xx

People's pre-op perceptions of size does make many believe that a DD for example which what seems to be the most commonly requested size, is MUCH bigger than they thought. This is why on forums such as this when women have the large perception of a DD in mind they panic and feel their boobs aren't big enough and feel that they're small - hence people suggesting augmented boobs are smaller.

The thought of me being an F cup before being fitted was just not something I'd ever envision... But I am. And when looking at natural F cups too... They're just like mine, its just pre-op, an F cup was for *coughs* larger ladies.

If you FILL a cup size, you ARE that cupsize! Its impossible to be able to fill a bra you're supposedly too small for  

We actually did a game here a few years back now, I will do it again some time when I have time, I mixed natural boobs with augmented boobs and asked the members to guess the size.

Overall, it was actually the augmented boobs that came out with members thinking they were larger!

But in all honestly... Cup sizes are all breast volume, so real or augmented, a DD is a DD (or any other cupsize) whatever boobs you have. Xx

Thanks Cookie for clearing this up.  I was just so confused by people saying augmented breasts looked smaller than natural even though they were the same cup size!! As you say it seems it is people's perceptions of cup size which is causing the confusion.  That sounds like a great game haha!! xxx

I've never heard that one before. One thing I was wondering though, do they weigh the same?

So I've requested a DD and my implants are 495g so half a pound each, would thus be lighter than a natural boob of the same size filled with natural breast tissue? I would have assumed the implants would be lighter than proper tissue?

The weight is virtually the same if the implant is over the muscle. Under the muscle the weight is slightly less. Breats will sag over time (how soon depends on many factors) at the same rate real or augmented because of the additional weight.

Ah thanks cookie, one of the things people tried to use to put me off my BA was I would get a bad back from them and assumed they would be lighter x

to be honest i think they do ... i measure a 32E (boux avenue) or 30F (debenhams, freya) and i do not look it at all. I'm not sure if its just because we get professionally fitted and girls with natrual boobs dont, maybe all those saying to be an E cup should actually be wearing FF's?? or maybe its because of the way the natural breast tissue moulds into a bra? oh i don't know! But to be honest, i would ignore bra sizes and just focus on how they look and wether the size is right for your body xx

oh sorry should add, i have two friends who are E cups and both looks wayyyy bigger than me but i know for definite one is wearing a bra wayyy too small so thats why i think maybe women are in wrong sizes? idk. I've been told by about 5 people that i look a C cup! nice

Hey Nicole :)

An E cup is not a standard size. A 32E cup is smaller than the cup on a 36E (significantly). 

Pre uplift I was wearing a 34F. But if my back size had been 36 (but my breasts the same size) my cup size would have been closer to a DD and if my back size had been a 38 my cup size would probably have been a C. 

My daughter wears 38F and her actual breasts are much, much bigger than mine were pre-op when I was wearing a 34F.  Both Fs but not - by any stretch - the same sized boobs. 

I suspect your friends back/band sizes are not 30 or 32. If that is the case and they are wearing 34/36/38 E bras then their actual boobs will be bigger than yours BUT relative to your frame yours are as big as theirs relative to their frames.

The media also doesn't help as far as cup size goes! You have the likes of Katie price prancing around with her so called DD's! And there is no way she is a DD, she is much bigger! 

We all have a preconceived idea of what a D cup is, and usually our idea of a D cup is wrong.

Back size plays a huge part in cupsize, but honestly, I would rather worry about wether my boobs look "right" on my body, than worry about what cupsize I may end up. It's almost like a competition with some girls these days, and that's when you get girls going way too big, and ending up with complications.

Always remember that it is easy to go a bit bigger, but much harder to go smaller.

Trust your surgeons, and if you don't, you've picked the wrong one! X

Same, me and my friend (with natural boobs, she doesn't know i've had mine done) both went to the same shop, Boux Avenue, to get measured. Hers came out at a 34F and mine came out at 34G. I'd say she looks at the very least 3 cup sizes bigger, probably more like 4  even my husband has said he doesn't know how hers didn't come out a bigger size than mine and said if she had come out the same size he would still have found that hard to believe =\ x

yeah i agree with nicole and balamory i must say!

of course it makes sense what cookie says, but i do think that natural boobs look different maybe the way they wobble or mould into cup sizes?
i look about a B or C cup at most (my cousin guessed a B cup) though i currently at 6weeks post op fit a 32D.

Right now you girls are still early in your recovery though... A year on and your bombs are actually going to have very natural movement and feel almost real.

Haha bombs...Cookie, what a Freudian slip ;) my surgeon has said that the result i've got now is pretty much the end result which is a shame really because i didn't fluff =[ But Cookie is right, they do feel completely natural and move like real boobs. They properly jiggle when you walk  where are you going on holiday Cookie?

Thanks Jesber, got the book and i must say i don't understand a damn thing in it  going to go to the meeting next wednesday tho =D really excited (sad or what?!). Haha PrincessJo is accounting for 2 pounds, i need to try and account for the other stone and a half  x
