So I'm just wondering , someone asked me why u wear the support bras for only in my case 6 weeks then can wear normal bras , I get the first few weeks why wounds healing and stitches dissolve , but after that was is the difference as I couldn't answer the question so said I would find out x

Re: Curiosity
I was told its to keep them supported and in place quite tightly so they don't move out of position!! It does make me wonder if the 6 weeks is enough though..but I guess it works for everyone here :) xxx

Re: Curiosity
I wondered this too as I thought the idea was for them to drop so why do they want them held up so firmly?

Re: Curiosity
pretty sure its for support while your are healing.Although some surgeons don't have their patients wear them so i think it just depends on surgeon's preference xx

Re: Curiosity
After your recovery period you don't have to wear a sportsbra at all if you don't want to. You can treat your boobs as if they were your own and if going braless all day is your preference then have fun doing it!
But.... If you want to maintain the aesthetic look of your new boobs then keeping them supported is going to help them last longer 'looks wise' that's all hun. All breasts will naturally sag and as well as things like pregnancy, age and possible weight loss/gain, how well you look after your boobs after surgery will have an affect on how they look years down the line. Xx

Re: Curiosity
I think 6 weeks is fairly standard from what I've heard. The best explanation for wearing a sports bra that I've heard is to keep the implant 'stable' while it settles. The macom is great for this.

Re: Curiosity
I feel sore if I don't sleep in my macom, my wounds hurt as they are pulled out of shape. I'm going to wear my supportive bras as often as I can. But I do love walking around the house with them out for a good airing and so does D!!! ;-)
