Not what I was expecting
Hi all, haven't posted on here for a while as been trying to get my head straight. I had my ba in April and my surgeon noticed a small lump during my op which he took a biopsy from but wasn't unduly worried about it. I wasn't myself really tbh and thought no more about it. So trying to get used to my new boobs when I received an appointment to go back to the hospital to find out that the small lump was it fact cancer. Since then I have surgery, which thankfully I received positive news that there was no spread and my lymph nodes were clear and I'm now two thirds of the way through my radiotherapy.
My right implant has been removed and I have been told I will be offered reconstruction once my skin has healed after my treatment has finished, at the moment I'm trying not too think about that too much and just focusing on getting to the end of this phase.
Of course I'm sorry to have lost one of my boobs after only having it for a few weeks but I'm a great believer in fate and if I hadn't have had my ba when I did and my surgeon hadn't have been so vigilant who knows how long the lump may have been undetected. I just think I have been very lucky and look at it as being a blessing in disguise.
I'm looking forward to being able to get away at the end of August for a relaxing hol in Turkey although I will be keeping out of the sun. I now have the dilemma of trying to find some decent swimwear for post surgery that doesn't look as if you borrowed it from your granny granny lol. I've git a few ideas up my sleeve so I'm not defeated yet!
Hope all you lovely ladies are keeping well and good luck to all those currently planning your BA xxx

Misante, I'm so sorry to read this but I agree with Cookie, you have such a wonderfully inspiring attitude and seem so positive which is really commendable. You've been through so much more than a BA. I truly hope you are on the road to recovery and are doing well. Thank you for sharing your story hun

Re: Not what I was expecting
Omg thankyou all, you xx I have finished my treatment now and have been catching up on some much needed sleep. Have been told my reconstruction will be in about 6 to 8 months once my skin has recovered from the radiotherapy so that's one less thing to worry about, so just getting ready for my hol in 3 weeks time.
Congratulations Lisa on becoming a moderator, you deserve it for all the effort you put it on this forum xx
