Hi, has anyone else experienced really, really sore nipples? After nearly 5 weeks I thought they might have started to feel a bit better, but no. Even the towel brushing over them after a shower is painful.  Also a couple of days ago I noticed that part of my right one looked a bit weird (flat and wrinkley)and now the skins started to peel, making it even more sensitive. Is this normal, am I just being a wimp? xx sad smile

It very normal lovely Hug  Over sensitivity in th nipples can be very painful top so you're not at all being a wimp hun.

What we advise is you to do is to pop a round cotton make-up pad over the nipple. This helps prevent the nipple brushing over the material of the bra which can feel quite abrasive when you're going through this. Or some women prefer to use breast feeding pads during this time.

You can also moisturise the nipple to help with the flaking too. This too is very normal hun.

The good news is that it does settle hun and things will return to normal, you also know that full sensation is back in your nipples too! Xx

Thank you Cookie, that's reassuring xx I did put some moisturiser on this morning, but I'll go and pop a couple of cotton wool pads on now xxxx

I feel your pain - literally! My lefty is so unbelievably sensitive its unreal, especially as i had little to no sensation before. Im hoping that this will calm down over the next month, hopefully I'll get the feeling back in righty and the two will even out!

I can definitely sympathise with you hun. I'm only 8 days post op but mine are mega sensitive the slightest thing hurts. My towel killed last night xx

At least we know there's going to be some feeling in them, and hopefully Charlii you'll start to get some feeling in your righty soon. xx I try to let the air get to mine as much as I can. As soon as my hubby and the kids have gone of to work and school, off comes the bra!! Mind you I do find myself constantly looking at them in the mirror!!Flash xx

I hope they calm down soon! Did you have sensitive nipples before? I don't at all and wondering if I will have this problem also! xx

You might Jen.. You might not. It just depends on your healing babe and not whether or not they were sensitive before.

Your nipple sensitivity should return to their normal state as were pre-op after healing. Xx

Hi Jen, no mine were fine before. They seem to have gotten a lot bigger which is probably why they're so sore. Skin stretching and rubbing on my bra. I've taken Cookie's advice though and moisturised them, hopefully this will help. xx

Thanks for replying! That's intresting, I will definitely prepare for this then, like I said above I thought that because I don't have sensitivity before I wont after, but seems that's not the case! Hope they feel better xx

1 of my nips still gets sore/sensitive n erect for nothing and im 3 months po lol x does get better and less frequent x
