Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Hi ladies,
Is it quite "normal" for a surgeon to take 2 different sizes into surgery to "see" which looks best/fits?

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Yes I've heard quite a few girls here that have asked for this option as you will have basically the last consultation on the morning of your surgery! I'm on the way to see my surgeon to look at sizes so I may ask for this too xx

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Ooh yes ask them about this jennifer! I think I will call my PCC today and see if she can have a quick word with the surgeon to save me having to make a journey back to Leeds just for him to "see" if 410ccs would be ok for me. I'd rather him decide on the day if poss.
Thanks for your reply

I was told they take the size you ask for and the size smaller but it's worth asking :) xx

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Oh no I don't want him to take the smaller size!! Lol. I will give the PCC a call today as I know that my surgeon has a clinic on a Tuesday so she might be able to pop and ask him. Thanks for that louann .

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
You CAN request your surgeon take two sizes into theatre with you, yes
When you're on the surgeons table, the surgeon then has a MUCH clearer idea of what will 'fit' best to give you the best look. So if they have the two sizes at hand they can judge then whether the larger or the smaller of the two would look best. Xx

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Thanks Cookie, I will see if my PCC can get a message to my surgeon so that he can order both sizes. I am happy to leave the decision to him, will just be happy that he had a choice rather than just going with what we decided since I am still unsure that it's the right things to do!

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Mine said two sizes from the off, 340 & 375, dependant on what he could physically fit as I had zero breast tissue, and the decision was made during surgery. It seems so little, but those extra 35cc could have meant over stretching, so Im glad he had the choice on him and didnt force something too big in.

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Thanks Charlii, it does sound like a better idea to have two options! With my first BA I left it to the surgeon to decide and he made the right decision with the 330ccs over the 300ccs as I would have been disappointed if they had been smaller! Sounds like your surgeon made a good call with sizes for you

Yes my surgeon took 2 sizes into theatre as he wasn't 100% sure if the bigger of the 2 would fit, but it did x

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
hi hun,
yes as the others said above its quite common if you're still not sure between 2 sizes, or if you're going for a size that may be the largest size for your frame, in that case the surgeon would also take the smaller size in, just in case he can't physically 'fit' the bigger size in i suppose.
with me i had decided with my surgeon on a specific size (which was nowhere near the largest possible), so on the morning before surgery we just confirmed that one size and that was it.
but no probs at all asking him to take in 2 sizes x

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Thank you Blue! I have left a message with my PCC to see what she thinks is the best idea with regards to whether I need to see my surgeon again or if I can wait until the morning consultation if he will agree to order the 2 different sizes.
I thought I was happy with my chosen size, I think the longer I wait, the more I worry about everything!!

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Its just pre-op jitters princess and VERY normal. I think everyone has a size panic just before surgery, but you'll be just fine on the day. Xx
Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Thanks Cookie, I really want to just leave the decision in Mr P's hands so if he will take in the 410cc implants as well then I think I will stop worrying. I feel like I'm a royal pain in the ass when I keep calling them! Lol

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
You're paying a lot of money to the clinic to get your boobs babe, so don't you be worrying at all how many times you feel you want to call them. This surgery is all about YOU and if you don't do all you can to ensure YOU get what you want no-one will be babe. Xx
Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
I feel like that when I ring them up but I keep reminding myself that it's what I'm paying for! So far they've been great which makes me feel better lol xx

Re: Taking 2 Sizes Into Surgery??
Thanks girls, I know that I am paying and really feel like I need the "100% happy" feeling. My PCC has been great and is always really helpful, I even enjoyed a free evening at a clairvoyant night on Sunday courtesy of my PCC!
I just can't help feeling like she must get fed up of being given telephone messages saying "please call pr1ncessmummy on 07......." Lol, can just imagine her thinking "oh god what does SHE want now?!!"

Nahhhh.... She's counting the pennies whilst keeping you happy Princess, just remember that.
After surgery... The PCCs aren't that accessible, so make the most of her now! Xx
