Band pain
So I know I've had surgery and can expect pain but seems my only pain is from the chest bands I have two on which have been put into a figure of 8 so won't be wearing my pot op bras for awhile , but if I was to loosen the band I know the discomfort would go away , painkillers kind of ease it , maybe this is just my bad day on the road to recovery x

Re: Band pain
The bands are often sore babe
You can buy rolls of cotton wool wadding from the chemist You can then use this to pad out any pressure points where the band might be causing pain babe. Hope this helps for you. Xx

Re: Band pain
Mine was really painful too! It felt like it crushed my chest causing extra pains. My nurse told me it was very important that I wore it. It did get easier, promise. After about 6 days it started to feel more comfortable. It's my last night wearing it tonight :-) yay!! Just need to wear sports bras for the next four weeks. Hope you're recovering well. Keep resting :-) xx

Re: Band pain
How long do u tend to wear them , I'm just wondering if I am wearing them as a figure of 8 as I have two on for the duration (whih I think is causing the most pain ) or if this is only until the week one post op check and then il be able to wear my bra with the vest band over that , but don't think feeling is dogging in is low where the pressure is pushing the implant down , I won't be taking it of except when flannel wash twice a day and change the band as want to follow doctors advice for best results , just feel without it I would be able to not take any painkillers x

Re: Band pain
wearing the bands as a figure 8 might have something to do with the fact you had a lift as well hun?
when you go for your one week check the nurse will be able to advise you if you need to continue wearing them like that.
i am wearing one band over the top of my boobs (to keep them down) and i need to wear that 24/7 for 6 weeks, unless of course i'm having a shower.
always looking forward to shower time now :) as i think most of my discomfort now comes from my band..
but we will get used to it and we will get through it hun, just think its all worth it for the end results xx

Re: Band pain
I see me Russo apparently he wants to see me at my one week pre op, glad I'm not alone in thinking the discomfort is because of the band , yeah could possibly be why I know my mum had a lift and implants and only had to wear a support bra she never wore a chest band at all , guess il have to wait till next week to find out more hopefully thy drop about so he's happy for me to just wear bra and one band like yourself xx

Re: Band pain
Especially as I go on holiday on August the 3rd and would like to wear a bikini and avoid looking like I have burger nips (as my partner says ) lol but guess we will see hopefully I cam get told I can take bands off at four weeks I know I have to wear support bra when I'm told to wear it for three months because of the lift x

Re: Band pain
If you're in sportsbras for 3 months babe you won't be in bikini tops on holiday. It might be worthwhile looking for nice crop tops to cover your sportsbras and match any bikini bottoms you might have so you can still look nice by the pool. Xx
Re: Band pain
Good idea I was thinking I was gunna have to wear the sports bras with a similar bikini over top and then wear a floaty dress type thing to make me look pretty lol , I didn't realise wore them for three months until looked in the aftercare book , I thought would be 6 , how come it says three months after an uplift ?x

Re: Band pain
Many surgeons are seemingly coming around to the idea that 3 months in sportsbras is good for the recovery. Many still feel 6 is enough but it can depend on the surgeon and on your own personal healing babe.
I had to wear mine for 3 months after my lift, but it soon flew over. Xx

Re: Band pain
A sportsbra helps to keep the breast stable. In the UK we use 'textured implants' these implants need no massage, the need stability of the breast to enable them to adhere to the breast pocket, so the longer the breast is stable, the better chance the implant has to adhere I guess. Xx

Re: Band pain
Don't worry Sophia, I only had a straight forward BA and I was in sports bras for 3 months day and night, and I still have to wear the sports bra at night. Not that I mind its quite comfy x

Re: Band pain
Yeah I thought it would be 6 weeks, but at my consultation I was told 3 months. My surgeon explained the reasons and I totally understood why. Luckily my 3 months is up, but I still prefer to be in the sports bra than normal bras xx
