Two weeks and counting...
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've posted on this site but I'm two weeks pre-op and think now's a good time to get back in the game! I was just wondering if anyone had any tips as to what I should be doing on the run up to my BA, things that might have helped you. I will start taking arnica next week and have been taking vitamin C and using Bio Oil daily. Any other tips would be very much appreciated!
Thanks guys and have a lovely weekend xx

Hi Goldi!! Wow cant believe you have two weeks to go :) Thats gone quickly :) Are you excited!? Have you brought all of your bits and bobs? Also were you told to take arnica two weeks before and two weeks after? I got told it was optional so im wondering how long before and after to take it... It will be your day before you know it :) xx

Re: Two weeks and counting...
You're best to get your vitamins from natural resources Goldi. Hit lemon drinks are great for getting tons of it and its a pretty nice drink too. Fresh oranges.. You know stuff like that.
Sit-ups are adviseable. You don't realise how much you'll need those tummy muscles Goldi until after your op when you REALLY need them lol.
Eating healthily is a must. It promotes good healing, so be sure you're on a good diet and then after your op, up your protein intake as this helps the healing along too.
If I can think of anymore I'll add them gorgeous.
Can't believe its only two weeks away now. You must be suuuuuuuper excited? Xx

Re: Two weeks and counting...
Hi girls!
Thanks for all your advice! Yes, I’m so, so excited! Nerves have yet to kick in. I just want to fast forward a few months so I can see the final results! I wasn’t aware you weren’t meant to take vitamins, eek! I was basing it on a book I read which says you can take them until a week pre-op. It says to take the Ester form of vitamin C which helps the body build collagen or something. I’m confused! I’m planning to take arnica a week before and 2 weeks after, again based on a book I read (the same one) Not sure if it might be best to start now though…
Jen, yes I think I have all my bits n bobs! Scared I’ve missed something important out! Spent the last couple of weeks getting myself organised, buying in things I won’t be able to lift post-op.
Will need to start doing some sit ups and I eat very healthily anyway so that’s not a problem. I eat mostly vegetarian food so will start eating a bit more meat to up my protein content. Thanks Cookie!
Me too Nicole, time has flown! However, at the same time I feel like I’ve been waiting for this for years (which technically I have!) I am so ready now!!! xx

Quorn is full of protein lovely if you're not necessarily a meat eater and no fat, so better than meat I feel anyway lol. Xx
Re: Two weeks and counting...
Yes true Cookie, and I do love a good chickpea! Confused about the vitamin issue though, should I be stopping them now?

Re: Two weeks and counting...
Yes babe. Stop taking any supplements from two weeks before surgery, so you're at that time now babe. Xx
Re: Two weeks and counting...

Re: Two weeks and counting...
hi hun, soooo excited for you, the last 2 weeks will go so quick and so slow at the same time!!
yes like the others said, stop taking all supplements at 2 weeks prior.
i can tell you now stomach muscles are so important lol, but at the same time don't wear them out before you need them!
other than that just enjoy the countdown, and make a ticker :) xx

Re: Two weeks and counting...
Ohh, I am so rubbish with technology it'd take me 2 weeks to make a ticker!! I will try though. It all feels so surreal, can't believe it's only 2 weeks! Ah, I must start doing sit ups, I need to switch my lazy button off for a while xx

Wow not long to go now hun, those two weeks will fly by. I never realised how much I would depend on my stomach muscles so I would recommend some sit ups, but after a few days it does get easier! Enjoy the countdown x
